Nintendo issued a second street date release of December 6th. Quantities are estimated to be 50% of the original release. Call your local retailers to find out if they have any for this release and, if so, what time they'll be selling them.
I work at Wal-Mart and we'd originally been told 12:01am, as we're a 24 hour store, but they've changed it to 8am now. I'm not sure if that was our managers decision or a directive from Nintendo, so just call around to get the details.
Good luck! I hope you're able to snag one! But if you miss out on the 6th, don't get worried. Their should be a third "wave" before Christmas.

well they dont come in loads. but every 1-2 wks they are coming. i believe nintendo wants 4 million sold by the end of the yr

keep checking with Target. They got 25 in the other day when I so happened to be there. I got one and I LOVE IT!
