Get Alienware.....awesome machines....as long as you don't mind spending a little bit more for it. If money is an issue and you want something cheaper, I recommend a Dell. Don't go with Compaq or HP if you can avoid it, they are just proprietary, production machines.

The most popular / ultimate i think alienware. When you buy an Alienware, you buy a computer that has a casing like no other, stuff that other companies don’t yet offer (ergo 19 inch laptop…), and good tech support.
You can find out at http://my-ultimate-notebook.blogspot.com list of the latest and popular NOTEBOOK brand.

First, there is no difference between a laptop and a notebook. Just different marketing terms. Secondly, what will you be using the laptop for? That dictates alot of factors. For general business use, nothing beats IBM/Lenovo. For general personal use, a lower end Dell or Apple Macbook For intensive graphics works, Apple Macbook Pro or a higher end Dell. Vaios are a waste of money. Toshiba's overall quality has dropped off recently. HP/Compaq...eh, nothing great or bad to say about them. I don't recommend them, but wouldn't bash someone for getting one. Dell or Apple are your best bets. Dell's tech support can be real hit or miss sometimes, but their build quality is generally much higher than other manufacturers.

I am looking for a laptop and it's hard to decide. I was going to get an AlienWare, I highly recommend Alienware. They are expensive, but they are really good computers. But, I have done some research and for me the Mac is the best. So I'm going with an Apple. The new ones have a lot of cool stuff. They have garage band, which allows you to do TONS of cool music recording and stuff! They have a remote so you can control your computer when you're away from it. The power cord is magnetic so that when you touch it, you won't trip on it and break your computer. They come in white, silver, and black.....If you order from apple they run about 1000.00-1500.00

The most popular is probably Dell. At my company I have approximately 15 Dell Inspiron laptops of varying ages (From 2 years to a few weeks) and I have never had one problem with them. If you're looking for high performance gaming platforms, although they are owned by Dell, I would check out Alienware.

Hey there..
Please decide what your requirements are and your range to spend...
options in requirements are:
1) Performance
2) Look
3) Customer Service
4) Audio/Video performance
5) Price Range
6) Weight
7) Size
If you are a home user: You use more audio/video+internet+ we look for the look
-> Prefer Sony.. it has the best audio and video performance.. but does not have good customer service... and good applications performance..now you have good deals on 'em
( size & weight are always with the price we pay)
If you are at work : We look for performace...
-> Prefer IBM or Toshiba as they have the best performance and avg audio/video quality.... avg price range..
If you are gaming/fancy freak:
->Prefer alienware....
If you are looking for customer support:
->Prefer DELL cheap and best systems... have ok sound, visual (better than IBM) avg performance... best customer support...
