There is. Type the name of the state you are interesting in and you will eventually find the site that gives all the information about that state. For example, type Texas and you will get a tremendous amount of information. You can then narrow it down to a city in Texas. All states have a site that promotes what they are best known for in the field of entertainment, places of interest to visit, etc. Unless you are particularly referring to this site. There would not be enough room for Texas to brag.
Seriously, that is a great idea. The only problem is this place is supposed to be secure and some people don't want you to know what state they live in, much less the city.

There's something similar to that, I don't think all of the states are listed though, just major and popular cities. It's not a bad idea.
