I prefer white, they seem classier to me for some reason. I put them along the edge of the roof, on the mantle above the fireplace, and on the tree(the only colored lights I have are a set of bubble lights on the tree, but those are not the same as colored twinkle lights). I have a very woody front yard and was thinking that two of those reindeer made of white lights would be pretty and maybe some white lights on the wreath on the front door. What do you think?

Oh and is it just me or does it seem like most colored lights are are several strands blinking out of sinc? That would drive me crazy!

Merry Christmas!

Yes, I think someone else did ask this, but I didn't realize it until after I had already asked, I wasn't paying attention to the similar questions thing until it was too late. But it wasn't me, I wouldn't ask the same question twice:)

If you like white, and are trimming your house in white, then the white reindeer in the front yard would look lovely, as would a white wreath on the door. Cool, elegant and classy.
Me? I prefer the jumbled colored lights and I don't care if they wink and blink in synch or not. It reminds me of when the kids were small and 'helped' to trim the tree. They made decorations in sunday school, and in elementary school, which looked godawful, but they were very proud of them, so they went on the tree and were saved for the next year, when they joined the collection of things that had to be part of our Chrirstmas tree.
However, it has lovely memories, and I guess I'm neither classy, cool, nor elegant, because to me, that's what Christmas is all about. If I want to see beautifully decorated trees, I'll go to the mall or the garden shop, where they have the '12 bays of Christmas' and each bay contains a differently themed tree.

And a Happy Hogmanay to you too!

I switch every year - but I saw a yard recently decorated with each color - solid green lights around a tree, solid red on bushes, solid blue around the windows, gold around the door. Different.
I like the reindeer idea, I also saw lighted moose which appealed to the silly me.
I don't like blinky lights, though some can be programmed to do a slow fade - those are slightly ok.

I use white and blue Christmas lights for outside and on the tree. It looks so nice. I will never but colored lights a gain. I think just white lights may look to plain trying adding a little color somewhere. Just a thought.

I like white christmas lights but they are kind of boring. When I are driving around during the Christmas season and see practically every house has white lights it makes me like the colored more, even the plain red. We put white lights on the house and colored around our entry way and on the christmas tree. Mix it up alittle.

I prefer the white lights.

Your idea about the deer and the lights on the wreath sounds pretty. Go for it.

But whatever you do, pick either white or colored. Don't do both (at least not close together)!

I like both white and coloured lights, but I prefer when only one or two colours are used.

I'm not a big fan of the blinking lights, though.

positively... WHITE lighting fixtures fixtures!! they look plenty "purifier". the coloured lighting fixtures fixtures for like a sprint toddler tree that they might desire of their mattress room, yet for a tree you submit on your livingroom or something... completely WHITE lighting fixtures fixtures with some colour cordinating bulbs. satisfied holiday journeys!!
