I know this depends on the individual but I'm just wondering how many of you out there have cheated in the past, & down the road when you met someone you really cared for & they asked the dreaded "have you ever cheated on someone" question, you actually answered honestly. Or did you lie so they would'nt hold it against you?

cheaters are lairs to begin with, I don't know anyone who comes out and admits, that they used to cheat all the time, It's hard to bring this out of someone in counseling

Id tell the truth simply because I've never cheated and have nothing to hide. I know many guys tho that lie all the time about it because they dont want someone to hold it against them. But the truth comes out in one way or another. My X told me he never cheated, and then one day We were shopping and ran into his X and she was like, "well if it isnt MR CHEATER HIMSELF?" He later told me that YES, he has cheated before... and guess what...He cheated on me. Once a cheater... ALWAYS a cheater.

I have admitted it to let the truth set me free. But I disagree with the phase "Once a cheater always a cheater" because we are human and we make mistakes some learn from them others don't. You can not generalize because each case is difference. I guess the trick is to understand that everyone has a past and shouldn't be judge by it.

You've got yourself stuck in a pretty sticky situation - one that you must get out of ASAP. It's always really hard to think rationally when it comes to someone you love. Even though you would never allow a friend to treat you this way, we often allow our BFs or GFs to walk all over us and pretend it's not a big deal. But it is a big deal. Your guy clearly does not respect you or your relationship with him. If he did, he wouldn't be messing around with someone else behind your back. He would have the decency to break up with you before getting together with someone else. The reason your friends would tell you to dump him is because he's not worthy of your time, energy and especially not of your love. Although it's not the answer you want to hear right now, it's the only answer I am able to offer - you have to break up with your BF. There are a ton of amazing guys out there and you will find one of them soon enough. Spend more time with your friends, family and other peeps who genuinely care about you. Stop wasting your time on this loser and try to move on. Good Luck!

A guy that I dated for about a year had a past that alot of people knew about but me. He straight forward came out and told me that he had cheated in the past on 3 of his girlfriends! He told me this after we had been dating a month. I was suprised and thought what have I got myself into but to this day he never did not cheat on me that I know of and we went out for a year.

Something that secret being revealed will only put doubt in a persons mind when it comes to trusting. I say leave well enough alone, don't let it ever happen again but NEVER admit it!!

I told the truth. I think most women would tell the truth but most men dont. I dont ever plan on telling the truth again though. I think it not only gets held against you but could also be used as an excuse to justify cheating on you.

I wouldn't tell the person you cheated on that you cheated. Lie till you die! But I would be honest with anyone else who asked. Guys will never admit that they have cheated.

First of all.... all these people who say "Once a Cheater, Always a Cheater" are closed minded idiots. That would mean that a person can never change. So why not say "Once poor, always poor".
I did in the past..... I admitted it ..... learned from it.... don't anymore! PERIOD

I told them the truth, I cheated. I cheated because I was miserable with the person I was with and I tried to get out of it, but he just wouldn't have it, so he left me no other choice.
