I experience sleep paralysis from time to time. I have had overwhelming feelings of terror, but anyone who has experienced sleep paralysis can relate to that! I have also felt as though I wasn't alone during my episodes. Before I learned that I was experiencing sleep paralysis, people told me many different things to describe what they thought was happening to me.
The most popular among older folk was the Black Demon Theory.
The Black Demon comes to you in your sleep and sits (or lays) on your chest. He robs you of your voice and you cannot move. If you can say, "Jesus" he will leave.
I was told this by elderly people in south Alabama. I cannot say if it is true or not, but I know sleep paralysis is some scary sh_t!

To clear up a misconception, An Incubus is a (fallen angel) that is suppose to be control by the words that is written a stone tablet. That tablet is also suppose to contains the words that can create or bring an incubus into our world of reality. Also an Incubus (fallen angel) exist here to bring harm to mankind in some very serious ways also all Incubus come in the guise of a demon. Another thing is said that an incubus spirit is suppose to rest within the writing on a stone tablet or a Incubus was buried beneath it. And a stone tablet was place on top of it as a warning. There are many reason why you may dream of an Incubus. But to actually meet one and remain unscathed would be a true miracle and proved beyond all doubt that you are blessed............ Now are fallen angels a real entity You can bet your last dollar on that and come out a winner.........

yup. Started when i was 11 still happens. You wake u, 100% mentally alert, but unable to comphrehend wtf u cant move. Absolutely terrified. A Something's there in with you -AND ITS NOT IMAGINATION....and its like u are pinned down and totally unable to even move your finger let alone shout out. The weird part is that u have no idea of how much time has passed as every second/milli second feels like forever. And dont even get me started on wtf is in the room with you........
not my mind....my sibling sometimes SAW black stuff in the room on d occurences.

I have not, but I wonder about this sleep paralysis you speak of. I wonder if it is what afflicted me not so long ago.
