Soul Limbo by Booker T and The MG's - in the past it the BBC used an more electronic version of the same theme; I'm not sure how long the BBC have been using it as their cricket theme, but I've been watching their coverage since 1977, and it was used then.

The song is called Soul Limbo by Booker T. & the MG's. The music was played in the 1977 film 'The Deep' (Nick Nolte/Jacqueline Bisset) during a scene at a cricket match in the West Indies.

That tune used to be the starting titles ages ago for cricket matches
They probably wanted to put it back on and get it going again

I dunno its been around for years though, its rather catchy isnt it. Try doing your housework to it. I bet it makes you clean quicker and with a smile on your face. Plus You will be practicing your cover drive with the hoover and bowling your hubby the bouncer with the iron!!
