This link will tell you about the butler's job. http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:W8NhFVEJUJUJ:www.butlersguild.com/+butlers&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1
A professional butler will know how to run a household, look after the clothes of his "gentleman", lay a table, serve the drinks, welcome guests, do the shopping (as needed) and a host of other useful things. Butlers are often sought-after by the rich and famous to manage their homes and yachts; there are also many hotels around the world who provide an individual butler service to their guests.
Even top city executives are being given their own butler or lifestyle managers to help compensate for the long hours they are expected to work. These lifestyle managers are employed to help with all the day-to-day tasks that a top city executive does not have time to manage; this may include looking after the dry cleaning requirements, cooking, arranging dinner parties or booking holidays. Being a butler is for many a licence to travel.
Butlers are employed all over the world and this makes it easy for the professional butler to choose which country he would like to work in together with the type of residence. Some will find themselves in the enviable position of looking after an employers luxury yacht for part of the year.

Yes. I worked with a woman whose son & daughter-in-law took what was to be a summer job only with a very rich couple who summered in Traverse City. They had just graduated from college & my friend wasn't very happy about that.
Anyway, they loved the job so much that they did it for several years. The couple they worked for owned two floors of a penthouse in the Sears Tower in Chicago (I'm not sure it was the Sears Tower but it was a well-known high rise).
Anyway, they had their own apt on the premises. He butlered and chauffered and she supervised the husehold staff. She learned how to plan & serve dinners for up to 50 people at a time.
Their employer received free tickets to just about anything happening in Chicago & often gave them to Dan & Charlene. She was the same size as the wife & was given all the clothes the wife no longer wanted.
They loved it and continued to do it until they were divorced. They then finally used their college education. I loved to hear my friend talk about what her children were doing while working that job!

yes, there are still many butlers. only the rich have them tough. a butlers job is easy. he's like the manager of the service in the house. tells the cleaning ladies what to do, the cooks what to cook. and is prabobly the driver if he is not to old. watch a batman movie, he got a butler. that will show you what a butlers job is like.

Oh yes there are! Very well paid privately in homes or luxury hotels. They can have a 24 hour butler service for guests.
