What kind of alterations shall one do to pep up the performance?
Or is this a bad idea? And what is a good transmission to pair with it to get the best performance?

Why would you want to install a V6, and not a V8, which the Trans Am already comes equipped with?

well if you mean just the engine and not the fuel injection system then its no big deal but the later engine block may not have a hole for the mechnical fuel pump to bolt to

but if you mean swapping to the fuel injection then i hope that you are VERY mechnically and electricall inclined and have alot of money and alot of tools and a nice garage and lots of time, you will have to convert to electric fuel pump system and do other conversions, and swap entire harnesses for the drivetrain, and install a computer and so forth and so on, you will need a whole donor vehicle to get everything from

a good tranny to use is any that you prefer really, you could go with a th400 or a 700r4 or whatever,

good luck

If you are looking for performance, forget the V6.

Go with a 350

I would suggest a crate motor.

ROFLMAO.....
WTF is wrong with you?
You broke and just happen to have a 4.3 "laying around" in your yard?

Better yet......why don't you just sell me the car and I'll put an SD455 in it....
