Then again, I would not have been Derek. I would not have come home found my wife in bed with my best friend and just run off. I would have filed for divorce or went to counseling and been done with the matter. What he did was childish. If he had settled matters in New York then he cold have come to Seattle met Meredith and with a clear conscience started a relationship with her.
Let's face Derek is a bad boy here. He likes to point fingers at Mark for sleeping with Addison but seriously, he slept with Meredith knowing that he hadn't even filed for a divorce, and then when Addison arrives; he does not immediately file for a divorce. That is just wrong on so many levels. It is wrong to keep Addison hoping. It is wrong to keep Meredith waiting. It is wrong not to make up his mind.
Personally, I think somebody should have hit him for being such a coward. This Hamlet thing is for the birds. He is not crazy, he is just unwilling to make up his mind.
Perhaps meredith and Addison should have had a cat fight. You know the audience wanted it, but all they did was like each other. Yuck. Women in such situations are no fun to write about. Where is Jerry Springer when I want him?
Anyway I would have chosen Meredith because she is less dark and twisty than Addison and she loves to get drunk and have hot steamy sex.
