mary kay has makeup just for people with oily skin. if you can't afford it however, you should try a waterbased foundation, it won't clog your pores. or if you buy designer make up look for medium or light-coverage these will give you the look you want without clogging your pores and will reduce the shine. what ever you do DO NOT use oil based makeups, these will clog your pores and will make your oily skin worse

I have oily skin myself, and this is my typical routine. Before I even put on my makeup, I use a mattifier on my skin. A mattifier is a thin lotion that helps absorb excess oil throughout the day. The one I use is by Lancome, but several companies make them. The next thing I do is apply an oil-free makeup. I've always used Neutrogena Skinclearing makeup, but again, most companies make an oil-free makeup. Then I apply a loose powder to my face. On oily skin this helps set the makeup and temporarily rids the skin of any leftover shine. Finally, I always carry blotting papers or tissues around with me during the day, along with a compact powder. When my face starts to get shiny again, I blot it with the paper or tissue and apply a thin layer of the powder where needed. Hope that helps!

You have some options. You could try a makeup with a matte finish like Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse... or use mineral makeup like Bare Escentuals and carry some blot paper with you. You could also use a translucent power - like MAC's Blot powder.

But really.. I would use a makeup primer underneath your makeup (whether it's powder or foundation). It smooths out the appearance of your pores, makes the makeup last longer, and it'll help keep your face from getting too oily. I know some women use Monistat Anti-Chafing gel as a makeup primer and that keeps their skin from getting super oily.

I'm exactly like you - my face shines after 3hrs after applying makeup.

Here's what I do:

I use Shu Uemura UV Mousse as base (or any base product which is oil-free), next I use Jane Foundation or Giorgio Armani Matte Foundation (again, any product which is oil-free and u have success in using them). Top it off with loose powder (I would strongly recommand New York Colors Loose Powder and Make Up For Ever Loose powder).

During mid-day, u can try using MAC Blot powder, Prescriptives Virtual Pressed Powder or Sephora Pressed Powder. I found success in these 3 powders.

U can also use blot papers to mop up shine.

Hope this helps!

Try Clinique, that's a good line for oily skin. They have matte powders to finish your look.

oil free makeup i use maybelline pure makeup its oil free, i like it cause i have oily skin too, but also get oil absorbing sheets, i forget the name of them, but you can go to walmart and ask them, its in the face wash or makeup section. just dab em on your face when it gets oily and it takes all the oil off. even if its oil free makeup after several hours your face will still get oily.
P.S. its a water based makeup, and i use the bowder over it and it does give you that matt look.

use the oil free make up! and to keep your face oil free most of the day wash it or use those facial pads. noxima works really good or the best thing is Biore Shine Control Cream Cleanser! For the entire set its usually 20-30 bucks for alot of their items. pretty cheap. If its not cheap 2 u then trust me on this, its worth it!!!!

always use less and dont use the wet kind, use those minerals or i forgot what its called but u ever hear of it? try to find something similar to it.Try to stay natural, meaning use less and use only the color that matches ur skin tone. Dont buy those girly names kind bc thats just a waste of ur $$. There's diff skin types & u have to find ur type so u'll know what makeup to look for. Its difficult bc theres soo many crappy makeup. Good luck with that.
