I have a 95 Ford Probe 2.0 that is in very, very good condition normally; however, I recently put a bottle of injector cleaner and iso for the sake of upcoming season... Afterwards... Now My 30A Fuel pump circuit breaker is burning out everytime I take off at high speed... The resistance on the pump is fine... The voltage going into the pump is fine... The pressure is fine... The check engine light is not on, yet works... What are the possible outcomes of putting a 50A circuit breaker in there?

I put in fuel injector cleaner in my immaculate 93 Full Size Blazer and the next day my fuel pump burned out...I was guessing that the cleaner had knocked a large chunk of deposits loose that seized the motor.

Yours sounds like it may have done something similar. I am betting you will need a new fuel pump soon...unfortunately. It doesn't sound like you have an electrical problem, more like a mechanical problem where the pump's impeller is no longer completely free to spin. If you can rebuild the pump it may solve your problem, or it may need to be replaced if it is a sealed unit.

Most pumps are located in the tank anymore...big pain to drain, and drop the tank to do the repair.

If you put a 50A circuit breaker in you risk a short or even a fire...not a happy thought when you consider this is IN the fuel tank. Most well designed circuits are over engineered by 25-100% so you could be pushing the wire and pump well beyond their absolute limits by increasing the current by 66%.

Good Luck!

It still might be the pump but there is one more thisng you might want to look at. Open your trunk or hatchback and lift up the cover where you spare tire is located. On the left hand side you will see a box located on the wheel well. It should have a red switch on it. This is your inertia switch which allows electric power to go to your fuel pump. Make sure that the wires are not corroded or the switch may be on its way out. Had a 91 probe with the same problem.

To be honest check this first... Wait till dark and then walk around the outside of your car looking for a light on under the hood. Then start looking for a glove box light on or the trunk light stuck on... these can all slowly drain the battery overnight... If none of these appear then you have to do some serious electrical testing because either something is staying on draining the battery or you have a short somewhere... $500 is cheap when it comes to problems like this because unless it's an simple find/fix labor can go through the roof. There are some electrical tests that will help find it but then fixing it is a different story and another thing, hook up a 12v gauge to your battery and go drive around making sure you can watch this gauge... Your alternator my "be good" but it might be undercharging your battery during normal driving causing it to not return to full charge... causing a premature dead battery and if you trust the garage you took it to then ok, if you have second guesses about them, get a second opinion

Other than possibly burning the car down or at least the wiring.. oh not much....

The circuit breaker is a bad idea and the system needs to be checked for shorts in the wiring itself (chaffing somewheres usually)

Only an exploding gas tank. The cleaner wrecked the fuel pump.

try changing the fuel filter by adding the extra load needed for higher speeds you could be putting too much pressure on the intake side of the filter and blowing the fuse

Let's see, 20 more amps on the same wires. Sure, that would be fine. Just make sure you wear asbestos pajamas to bed.
