If no one will be disturbed by this I suggest you try it. Get a third alarm that plays music as the alarm. Set it to play loud dance music. Instead of turning it off, once you get out of bed try dancing to it. It should wake you up.

You're probably a night person, so you're not getting enough sleep because even if you go to bed early, it takes more than a time or two to establish new sleeping patterns. I think it takes something on the order of 2 weeks to 2 months. You may also not be getting "quality sleep". Believe it or not, though, not everybody is meant to be on the same schedule but, unfortunately, most of the world dictates our work hours to us.

This problem is related to 2 hormones in our body. If I remember correctly, they are melatonin and serotonin. One tells you when you're tired, the other tells you when to wake up. You can ask your doctor to issue a blood test that will establish which side(s) you're weak on and a prescription can be given. The test may also determine if it's something simple like a low iron balance, for example.

The other issue that may be at stake is that you may be a procrastinator. You're simply putting off in the morning what you need to do the same as you would during the day when you're awake.

Either way, the doctor's probably the best source for this information whether you need a blood test or a sleep study. Good luck!

When you get up to turn the alarm off make yourself go turn the light on too. Maybe put the alarm next to the light switch. The bright light will wake your body up in no time.

Are you getting good night sleeps? You may not be entering the REM part of the sleep cycle, which is where you dream and get the best rest. try going to bed earlier, and take melatonin. It is a natural sleep aid that will assist in getting the most out of your sleep, so you won't be so tired in the morning.

There are several more things you can do.

First of all, consider going to bed a couple hours earlier than you do now.

Also, have someone call you to wake you up at the time you want to get up. . and then go right into the bathroom and wash your face in cold water, and have them stay on the phone until you agree that you're up and you're staying up, and have them make you promise not to go back to bed. Then turn on a radio or tv pretty loud, and leave it on loud.

Then after they are off the phone, go and wash your face again in cold water.

Then do 30 jumping jacks to get yourself completely awake (go outside to do them if necessary).

This should go a long ways to getting you to get up on time. If you can do all of the above things regularly in the morning when it's time to get up, you should be fine and should stay awake and get your day going on time.

I would urge you to write down all these steps, and then memorize them (or cut and paste this list to a notepad or Word or Wordpad file on your desktop and then print it out).

good luck and God bless you.

At least you can get up when you hear the alarms, i have taught myself to just sleep through them..lol
you could just press snooze when you get up to turn off the alarm so that you have to keep getting up, or you could wash your face with really hot water, that usually helps me to wake up.

Set your coffee pot on auto so it brews coffee when your alarm goes off, so you'll be motivated by that coffee smell to get out of bed and drink a hot cup. Or, look forward to getting into a hot shower. Just try to think of things to add to your morning routine that will make you WANT to get up out of bed.

I have the EXACT same problem. I never want to get out of bed. I have to literally coach myself to get up.
I think exercise is the best cure. It will make you tired and want to go to bed and gives you more energy for they day.

You don't care about getting to work on time.

When it comes back to hurt you, you'll appreciate waking up and getting to work on time.
