There is no SIN - Life is beyond Good and Evil. I am NOT a creature of any faith, but I think all life must be respected. If you don't need to eat it to survive or protect yourself against it, then I say why kill it? What I always ask myself when it comes to creepy crawly creatures that appear to be a pest in my life is this: Can I "safely" and "realistically" help it/them on its/their merry way (i.e. return it/them back to nature)? If yes, then I do it, and if not; they are either roasted and added to my diet (lol), or else just crushed to a gooey pulp and the site wiped clean with alcohol. The end of story. :-)

I don't know if it's a sin, but did you HAVE to kill the spider, or did you play God?
My mother always said it was bad luck to kill a spider.
Spiders are really wonderful, important, unappreciated critters.
Poor spiders. I never kill spiders.

no but the karmic debt will have to be paid. spiders are the weavers of the web of life, they are sacred i would never harm one. simply take a glass place it over the spider, put a piece of paper under it and move the spider outdoors.

No, Humans eat their fair amount of spiders while asleep anyway.
He would've only killed a fly anyway, so you saved that flys life.

No. Spiders are disgusting, but they kill other insects. Unless your a Jane, I wouldn't worry about it.

I would say no. People kill other animals and its not a sin. Like deer people kill them all the time and its not a sin.

Arachniphobics, ( those who fear spiders ), would call you a saint. Spiders have hundreds of babies at a time and eat their young, no big deal.
