What can i do to get over him?
i want to stay close friends with him as we talk to each other everyday
he wants to chat on the phone often too (although i tell him that i dont want to chat on the phone because then i'd fall for him even more)
But he always talks about this other Turkish girl to me in his Uni who he finds so "hot" - and i have to listen to it
and now i just dont want to feel like this at all - i just want to revert back to being a good friend who listens, without this feeling
what can i do?

it's just a tactic to jealous you
he is trying to understand your feelings about him through your reactions when he was starting to talk about the other girl

Start chatting to other guys too, then in time hopefully it will be easier for you to consider the other friend to be just that - a friend and not a potential lover. Life can be strange, and needs both of you to 'want' each other to make it work. If he just likes you as a friend, then accept that. He is probably a very good friend to have and often male/female friendships tread the fine line, but manage to stay platonic.

This is my advice and I really think its the best thing....You need to cut off all ties with him for a long time.... preferably a year if you REALLLLLY like him. Trust me, any less and you will just go back to liking him the second you hang out with him again. I liked a friend once....and I tried to cut contact with her for months here and there.....but then I'd like her again. Then I made the difficult decision that I wouldnt contact her again. It sucked, and she was upset at losing a friend....but in the end, you will be glad you did. I ended up seeing the girl like a year and a half later at a club and now we are friends and I am not attracted to her in that way ....but you need to have that long period of time away from her. In the end, its the best thing you can do for both of you.

Yeah, Tuffy. Heres the blokes pov: He likes this Turkish girl so much that he has decided that she is who he wants. You won't sway him, like a dog with a bone. You should remain his mate, otherwise he'll feel bad like he hurt you. Don't put him through that darlin' please, It's harder for him than it is for you. You don't really want him as a boyfriend do you?, when you can have an everlasting friendship that's worth more than a million relationships. If he knows how you feel and still rants on about another girl, he's being cruel. Just distance yourself from him, he's probably just using you to feed his ego. You can do so much better and you should respect yourself more than hango on to him. I know I sound harsh, but really, I've been there and it's the only thing to do unless you want to torture yourself even more.

Tell him how you feel. And maybe you should get a boyfriend so you wont think about your friend all the time, he'll be like a distraction.

its just time and when you have another boy to think abou tthe pain will lessen, this happend to me and as soon as the next boy ame along i was fine. crushes are just that go with the emotion and allow yourself to feel it for a while then focus on getting boys for you

Have you told him how you feel? If so then just tell him that since you like him you would rather not talk about who he likes.

show him who you are and that you do have feelings for him leave him with his thoughts until he contactcs you its the only way to know,its that or kill yourself inside
