I'm sick of this "we'll enter you in our sweepstakes!" bullsh*t and the whole points value stuff. Is there any site that just gives you a straightforward money amount for taking each survey? No survey site I've ever tried has paid off in my experience.

Yes...there are some. On the following site I've listed some of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid--
and I tell whether they pay you by check, pay-pal, points for rewards, etc.--plus what I like and dislike about them.

One I don't list is www.surveydirect.com. I have't been paid through them because I either don't qualify for the surveys, or they require flash, which I don't have on the browser I use. But I've heard from other people that its good and they pay by pay-pal (not every survey is paid...but they tell you up-front which ones aren't, so you can just skip those that aren't).

There are others out there. Be careful though, there are also scams. Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.

Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not agregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).

Also just recently came across a good survey ratings site that I've found very helpful:

The longest-established (and probably best) one is Greenfield Online:

They hold drawings. I actually have won (and gotten paid, it was $20) with them before. You have to keep in mind that many of these survey sites seem like scams because if they paid for every survey, they'd be paying at most a penny to fifty cents. It is not a good idea to plan on making a living taking surveys. Most surveys are not worth your time if you make more than 20k a year in salary.

Any survey site which has more than two pages of "personal information required" or a long survey just to join is likely a scam. They will sell your email address and personal info to multiple companies.

The best site i've found is SurveySavvy. It's free to sign up, they are a member of the better business bureau, THEY DON'T SPAM YOU and you start earning cash right away! The more people you refer, the more money you can make. I made $20.00 on my first survey! Try it!
