Ok well I just found out I have another UTI because I had them a lot and I know what it feels like. Plus my mom can do the tests at her work to see if I have one and so she did today and found out I have another one. I’ve even seen a specialist about it and I’m still seeing him. Well he gave me this medicine to take everyday and I don’t take it anymore because I thought I didn’t need to take it and I never had a chance to because I’ve been busy with school and everything going on in my life. Now my mom is pissed at me and doesn’t want to pay for my co-pay to go to the doctor again for my problem because I don’t take the medicine. So anyways my question is....does anybody know of anything I can do to cure myself without having to go to the doctor? Plus if I was going to go to the doctor...I don’t get paid at work till next Thursday and I probably won’t be able to take the pain that long.
Ok I know to drink cranberry juice and eat yogurt so is there anything else I could use or do?

There is an over the counter form of a pyridium called AZO. It does the same thing as the prescription form. Your pee will be orange which I'm sure you are used to and it will help relieve some of the irritation. Also, you can get cranberry capsules to take if you can't stomach the cranberry juice. Additionally, you may want to take extra precautions during sex. You could be getting the infections from unprotected sex. Be sure to always pee immediately following sex and wipe front to back. If you aren't having sex, you may look at any changes you have made recently in detergent/soap etc.

take vitamin C & Cranberry Pills. I was getting them often and my doctor put me on that daily regimen as a preventative thing. If it's early enough and you aren't to infected start taking the vitamin C along with the Cranberry pills & plenty of Cranberry juice/water and it should take care of it. Make sure the cranberry juice IS NOT "Cranberry juice Cocktail" There's a lot of sugar in those and thats not good. Be sure to get the 100% juice. If you're having pain/discomfort get some Uristat it works great to relieve the pain.

AZO for urinary pain releif gets rid of the pain

Cranberry juice helps clense your system and can make them go away. So can water with alot of lemon

You can get cranberry vitamins

If you get the UTI's frequently and dont know why and the Dr.s cant figure itout either... I hate to tell you, if you are sexually active... sex can cause them in certain females. I have to take a pill every time I do it or I will get one. And remind your mother that a UTI can travel into ur kidney and you can get a kidney infection and even kidney stones. Which is cheeper, paying a co-pay or a hospital bill.

Once a UTI comes on head strong, there's usually nothing else you can do except for a dose of antibotics. However, to ease the pain there are over-the-counter meds (ie AZO) that have a calming agent in them to help with the burning sensation.
Also, I have found that using the restroom after intercourse and other "activities" has seemed to help quite a bit as well.

Good Luck!

If you don't take your full course of medication the symptoms will return. The only thing that gets rid of UTI's is anti-biotics. Plus the longer you leave it without medication, the worse pain you will be in.

Why don't you call your doctor and tell the nurse what is going on and see if he won't call in Rx for you if you promise to follow his advice.
Also if you are taking baths stop and only take showers it may lesson the frequency of infections.
Good Luck and listen to mom and specialist.

You really need antibiotics but I have heard that alka seltzer will ease the symtoms of a uti. Don't know if it is true but probably worth a try.
