The 'ghost' is a cardboard cut-out of Ted Danson (one of the stars of the film). The cardboard cut-out appears in the sequel TWO MEN AND A LITTLE LADYand the whole'ghost' thing was raised by the films producers just prior to the release of either the video of the first film or the cinematic release of the sequel. In short - its a publicity blag.

LOL! It is rather spooky!

The story goes that a young boy who accidentally shot himself in the apartment they were filming in is seen briefly behind the curtains holding the gun in his hand.

The truth of the matter is that it is a promo cardboard cutout of one of the guys (Ted Danson I think) in a tux that was propped outside of the window.

Frankly I was sad when I found out this wasn't an actual ghost...that would've been COOL!

John A - it replaced into certainly Ted Danson's carboard cutout. The link to Snopes that a pair of different answerers listed shows the cutout with Ted Danson donning a tuxedo & tophat. John A - the photograph on Snopes of course shows that's Ted Danson. It seems no longer something like Guttenberg. and you will cleary see an exact hat on the cardboard cutout. i'm unsure what you're finding at yet Ted Danson has stated that it replaced into him interior the cutout. Please examine the completed article the place it states: "The determine at the back of the curtain is a "standee" (a prevalent cardboard cutout used for advertising diplays) of Ted Danson, wearing an exact hat, white shirt & tails that replaced into left in front of a window on the set and thereby "sneaked" into the historic past of one scene. The standee prop replaced into created as component of the storyline regarding a dogs nutrition commercial wherein Danson's character (an actor) looks, yet references to the determine have been cut back from the main suitable version of the action picture. (The standee shows up as quickly as extra interior the action picture, as Ted Danson may well be considered status next to it whilst the mummy comes returned to reclaim her toddler.)" And its complicated to work out the precise hat on the meant "ghost" because of the fact its hid at the back of the curtain and returned interior the area out of concentration. How that does no longer sparkling it up for you John A is complicated to have faith. until needless to say, you're a sort of folk who relatively have faith that's a ghost. i think of its time so which you would be able to circulate on your eye physician or get a sparkling workstation. LOL. it isn't any longer Guttenburg. The evidence has been provided - provide up being so obdurate, Grandpa & admit once you're incorrect!

I heard about this years ago, and it scared the hell out of me but unfortunately it was an urban legend... The boy standing behind the curtain is actually a card board cut out of a young boy wearing a top hat and tails. This cardboard cut out appeared in one of the other films.

The saying is that the little boy scene behind the curtin with the shot gun beside him, is the little boy who was killed there in the house by accident by his cousin years ago. It is very spooky! Its as he's trying to let someone know he was killed with that shoot gun. The gun is also seen in anoother scence laying on the barrel upside down with out the boy. I don't remember what scene though.

I know someone already posted a link stating this was false...but some people refuse to believe that it really was a cutout even with proof.
While I believe in ghosts I really do believe this is not one...and the story is also on snopes which is a great site to find information on stories like this!!!

It is no ghost. It was a cardboard cut-out, like they use in movie theaters to promote films. If I remember right it was folded in half (so it looks short) and was actually a cut-out of Ted Danson.

Yes I've seen it. It's a cut out of Ted Danson as a kid. They put it there as a joke.

It is in the older copies of the movie. I heard it was removed in the current copies. I did see it, but like many have told you they claim it was a joke put there by a crew member.
