Carefresh is pretty good. It absorbs 10x its weight in liquid and doesn't turn to dust after it's used. It's good for ferrets because it's not so small that they'll get it in their nose and if they dig in it and toss it out of the cage, it's easy to vacuum up. It's not the cheapest thing out there, but it's good.

If odor is a problem, try taping (duct or packing tape) a carbon filter in the bottom of each litter box.

Carefresh is great i use it for my mice. It absorbs 10x its weight and helps get rid of odours it works well too. It is also quite cheap and compact. A 6 litre bag holds 10 litres of the stuff (easy to get home) Its made from wood pulp so now trees cut down its also biodegragable so can be put on the compost heap. It does not tuen into dust either. It is in clumps so easier to dispose of than sawdust. hope this helps !

DO NOT USE CEDAR IT CAN KILL them... I have two ferrets.... and they love old tshirts (without printing on them) and towels.... Use tidy cats multiple cats liter... also give them a bath at least twice a month but no more than that it can deplete their natural oils.... Also check at a local pet store they carry some stuff that you can put in their food to make the musk smell go away....

Pine and cedar are toxic but aspen wich is a hardwood is perfectly fine.

Never use clay catlitter for the litter, its dangerous.
