In its strictest term, any advertising that is controversial is such that it suggests anything that might be offensive to a certain group or individual in society.

Anything that goes against the morals of Christ. The government should hand over control of the television airwaves to the church. The FCC is too tame. Jesus won't take half of what they allow on TV.
