Everyone finds parts of uni life tough -that's at least one of the things you're going to have in common with almost everyone else.
It's fine if you didn't immediately find people you're completely comfortable with -but you will make friends if you stick with it!
Remember it's still early days, so try to focus on the work until you're more comfortable with people in your year.

You are there for an education, right? If so, get to class and learn! If you are concentrating on your school work, you should settle in just fine. Its only been 2 months, so at least finish your first semester or better yet finish your first year and then see if you are settled or not. It isn't easy making the transition to university, so just hang in there! It is very important for you to get your degree, and in my opinion, its very important to live the university life! It has a great deal to do with your social development and growing up and finding out who you are.

You can do this if you want it badly enough. Your job is to go to school and do what you're told. When you graduate (or drop out), your job will be to go to work and do what you're told. If you drop out though, you'll make a lot less money.
I took a nontraditional route through college: I tested out of everything and got a BA. I'm now in law school, but I'm experiencing most of the same freshman blues you are. Luckily, I'm married so the dating thing is not an issue :)
I sympathize. It's hard. Worthwhile stuff usually is hard out here in adultland.
You can do it though. The question is, will you?

When I was in college, I thought that university was a bit tough getting used to, especially because I am from another country. The thought of quitting never crossed my mind, because I knew that Life on the whole would become more difficult..e.g getting a job etc. My advice to you is hang in there and study hard. When you start working full-time, you will hate having to get up every morning to go to work. Getting up every morning to go to work is worse than getting up and going to a class that is less than 2 hrs long. Just the thought of having to stay up 8 hrs without naps kept me in school....hahaha!

Whatever you do DON'T drop out, it's only your first year which is essentially just to see how you cope with the work load, The marks you get in the first year don't count towards your final mark. I know exactly you are feeling now, I felt exactly the same way, I'm now in my third year. I'm not saying it's easy, but it does get easier.

My daughter started in September too. She's coping with the course but couldn't cope with living away from home. She moved back home, luckily she can commute daily and is a great deal happier now. I hope you don't give up, good luck xx

AsalamuAlaikum Sister, and MashaAllah welcome to Islam! :) Now, to respond to your Q, i know it could be no longer common for you, yet you're able to no longer provide up. And a minimum of your attempting, which itself is a large accomplishment. would Allah bless you. Ameen! the factor is that i exchange into born Muslim, and nonetheless did no longer used to desire until eventually i exchange into like 12-13, some years in the past, yet as quickly as I did start up, then yeah, it exchange into no longer common in the beginning up, yet now i are starting to be used to it, and it particularly is particularly no longer that confusing. once you awaken in the morning for college, what time is it? as quickly as I awaken for college, its approximately 6, so I first pray Fajr ,and then i'm getting waiting. I pray Zuhr as quickly as I get decrease back from college, yet whilst there is not any longer time left by the time you get homestead, then see in case you will come across a quiet spot on campus the place you are able to pray. And if even that's no longer achieveable, then i assume you will could pray Qada afterwards, yet that would continuously be a final motel. in case your place in time for Zuhr, then your in all hazard additionally homestead for Asr, so which you will pray 4 Rakat Fard, and then get decrease back to interpreting, and in case your nonetheless on the college, then i assume do comparable to you will for Zuhr. Maghrib is likewise a short prayer, so it is going to no longer take extra effective than approximately 10-15 min to desire, so InshaAllah which would be common for you. And Isha, whether is the longest prayer, i think of it particularly is the least confusing, for the reason that there's an prolonged time in which you will pray Isha. merely save interpreting, and once you have studied sufficient, then until eventually now going to sleep, merely pray first. All jointly, the 5 prayers do no longer take very long to desire. 6-7 min for Fajr 15-18 min Zuhr 7-8 min Asr 10-15 min Maghrib 20-25 min Isha approximately an hour total. it particularly is particularly no longer that plenty. to surrender merely an hour out of the 24 hours for Allah seems so little, do no longer you think of. after which you have 23 hours do do each and every thing else: consume, sleep, learn... would Allah make it common on you and save you in His Imaan, continuously. Ameen! desire this facilitates :)

I found it semi-tough...due to the fact that I was a "mature" student and the lack of money got me the most...but hang on in there...it will be worth it in the end!
