what is the difference between analysing and describing a case study?

Analyzing, to me, would mean that you are actually thinking and writing about what the case study means and how, where and what it is applicable to. Describing, it seems, is basically just rewording the case study and not putting any extra thought into it beyond that.

Analysis means taking apart into components, it's the opposite of synthesis, both are hands-on activities. Describing something is neither of these, it's a hands-off activity.
