Actually, the opposite is true.

Most architects believe that the Empire State Building is built so strong and with enough fireproofing that it would have SURVIVED a 9/11-style impact. In fact, the first impact of an airplane with a skyscraper in New York was a plane running into the Empire State building. And the building was open for business the next day!

The World Trade Centre and the Empire State Building were really built with different objectives in mind. The former was made to look pretty and was filled with lots of open space. The latter was designed to last as near to forever as was possible, so it's filled with redundant systems that overcompensate for more concievable problems. Link below for details about structure, fireproofing, and so on.

Consider, for example, that the Empire State Building was built in 1931, but had so much electrical wiring that it hasn't had a problem even now with the ubiquitousness of electric devices.

The moral of the story is that if you find yourself in a city and believe a terrorist attack is about to occur, find the oldest building you can. Proven survivability counts for a lot!

Hmmm, a fantasy by ability of definition isn't surely yet this is a bodily sensible question besides. we would favor to guage: is the mass of a penny, travelling at terminal % have adequate rigidity to punch by way of a sidewalk? or perchance kill someone if dropped on their head (the widespread variety we heard as children.) the answer is that a penny has inadequate mass damage human pores and skin or dent concrete sidewalks, even even as fired by ability of a rifle. A penny weighs about 3.a million grams or a pair of million/10 of an ounce... it really is purely too gentle to do any damage of this variety.
