You should turn it in to the police station. Then if it isn't claimed, it is yours. But nothing will stand in the way of the supermarket from taking it. The police will have to give you a report number.

If you turned it in to the supermarket manager, good luck in claiming it. Call them up and see if anyone has claimed it. If you work there and turned it in, it would be hard pressed for you to ever claim the hundred as your own.

You did the right thing by turning in the money. I would have to be honest and say that I probably would have kept it. Unless, I saw specifically who had dropped it.

Good Luck and Take Care

From a legal perspective, you are supposed to turn it into the supermarket because it is not really your property. If you found $100 on the street, you would be able to keep it, but because it's in a semi-public place (a business), you are supposed to leave it there since they are likely to go back there to retrieve it. If it's on the street you can just keep it, since there is no one there to turn it into anyway.

If you were to find a $100 bill on the ground, chances are it's someone who really doesn't need it. Chances are, they make more in a day than you make in 2 weeks. You really should have kept it for yourself. If I were to drop $100, trust me, I would have made an announcement within 3 minutes of the dropping. Depends on what store. You do know that if you find money, and give it to someone to return, they will definately keep it for themselves, and tell you that they found the rightful owner of the money. Hate to say it, but either way, you are no longer getting that money

I would say yes that you have a claim for it but, I'm pretty sure that someone will claim before you get it.

Yes , of course you must claim and if no response so you could give this money for poor people in your city.

Usually in these cases if no one claims it within 30 days, it becomes yours....

You should just pocket it.
Go home and call the market and tell them you found an undisclosed amount of money, and if someone claims that exact amount (one single $100 bill, or whatever they lost) then they can contact you. If not, it's all yours!
