like what makes one person seem attractive to some people while they are considered ugly to others?

I personally think that it may have something to do with the way that we are raised. I'm from a small town, I'm half black, my mom's black and my dad's white. My mom always dated white guys. I always saw how my mom was attracted to white guys. Therefore, I always thought white was beautiful. It was also because of a lack of options concerning race in my hometown. I'm related to all of the black people there! Anyhow, same thing goes for black people raised in black communities. They think that black is beautiful (and it is!), but they naturally find the characteristics of African Americans more appealing.
I watched on Discovery once a show about how the brain finds people attractive. There is actually an animalistic instinct in all of us to look for people with eyes a certain distance apart, full lips, etc, that makes us want to reproduce with those types of traits.
You can also say primal things such as the scent one emmits and natural chemistry has something to do with why we are attracted to who we are attracted to.

Most of the time it's 'Sex-appeal'.
It can either be their looks or how 'cool' the person is... Some people go for looks and some does not....
Others call em ugly just because that the person is not their type.

It's a subconscious thing! Something in you "recognizes" and is attracted to something in her. Unfortunately, it is usually something NEGATIVE! Some deficit, lacking, problem or hang-up in each partner. Sounds a bit like voo-doo and, honestly, i think it is. Who can get inside someon's heart and mind? LOL

i am in love with my math teacher. He's about 20 years older then me, and alot of people dont think that he is quite attractive. but honestly, i think that he is cute, and i would Love to have his children! lol. he has a wonderful personality, and gorgous eyes, which i believe brought me to adore him so much.
