It means its been downloaded and disguised under a file that you have attempted to download from the web.

If you try doing a virus check and it will come up with the registary file you have downloaded you can try and remove the file manually to see if helps, it means its a disguised trojan file that some **** has uploaded and unfortunately it can eat away at your files if you have vital documents in their it could even allow the person at the other end of the file to gain access to your computer as they install dialers, which can result in data loss and you could have severe damage do the virus check asap if something comes up remove the file, but format the machine and it removes the file competely, answers may differ but formatting wipes the os clean and allows you a fresh start on windows to install the relevant packages you require, I would try that and maybe not take any backups as the severity of the download of the trojan may be bad and could result if you format the machine meaning you could install it again the idea of a format is a fresh start for your pc...

Whichever anti-virus software that is reporting the trojan horse should be run in "Safe Mode". You can get to safe mode by hitting F8 as your computer restarts till you see the boot menu. Choose Safe Mode (the one with networking if you want to try to update your AV software before you scan).

Then run a complete system scan. This may take a while and you'll be limited in what you can do on the computer, but it should be able to remedy the problem in Safe Mode.

Cheapest and best option is Probably AVG free virus checker. It is available from www.grisoft.com the distributors website. It is only free for another 6 weeks.

I have found it better than Norton and other virus checkers that you have to pay for.

Install it and run it a few times after rebooting. It normally does the job.

contrary to one answers claim spybot is not a virus/trojan remover.
your best option will be to try these online scans

www.housecall.trendmicro.com

or

http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

once you get it removed you'll need to get your anti-virus program up todate and do a full scan

Download SpyBot Search & Destroy - this will find all viruses, spyware, etc, then at the click of a button you can 'kill' them all. Download all the available updates and run the programme once a week or so. It's very easy to use and very effective.
