here is the thing I have to go to work in the messy sleat and snow storm tonight. It has been sleating all day then later on tonight its going to snow . The question is would you get out in this for 4 hours of work? If you wouldnt what do you tell your job? I

Tell them you are not going to venture out in the storm. Logic. Safety first.

Why can't you be honest with your boss? Explain to him or her that you're not comfortable with driving in that type of weather. It may be understandable if you have a long distance to travel just for the 4 hours. If you've not abused the system of calling out your boss just might understand and appreciate your honesty. I wouldn't call out sick if you're really not sick. What the worst your boss can say, come in or you're fired. Then you'd have to question how vaulable you are to the company. Then again they just might tell you, ok most staff isn't coming and beside the company will be closing early.

I would go to work, in fact i'm from Colorado and we just got like 2 feet of snow and ice... i went to work.

nope . the chances of you crashing or getting stuck some where far exceed the value you will earn in 4 hrs. explain this to boss nicely. let the chips fail where they may.
co worker attempted to come to work in bad weather. crashed , got hurt, messed up car, lost work and still was out of pay check.
unless boss got gun to your head say heck no.

if this is a regular weather occurance for your area i would suggest you go to work...its only four hours....besides what are you going to do when you really do get sick or want to play the sick card on another occasion...remember we are just starting the cold season....go to work....youll be glad you did
