Remember the reason for the season. A note to a loved one. A I O U to help out around the house. Go visit your family and enjoy the warmth of family and friends. Go to a nursing home and sing a Christmas song. Help with the toy drive for the poor and you will come away with a smile you can't wipe off your face for weeks. Help service dinner at a local church to help the poor. You will see how blessed you really are. Presents to not make the holiday joy and love does.

I would go to some of the homeless shelters, or churches to serve Christmas Dinner! and then I would go home and pray! Many Christmas I have no money, since my husband died, but I am still grateful, and thankful!

I would make things with my hands. I have a thing about creating gifts out of nothing. Get pine cones and paint them gold and put them on sticks and make arrangements. Pick up dried seeds from trees and make things from them. Make gift boxes and decorate them. Write a beautiful poem - go to a picture framing place and ask for off cuts of mounting board. Make collages of photographs and pictures from magazines. Get creative. Go to the library and look for ideas. Look on the internet too. Buy beads and make jewelry. People love that. I think i get more pleasure out of a gift someone has made than a bought one!
