I think she shouldn't have pressured him into returning so quickly. I know she thought she was helping him, but it was too soon after such a traumatic experience. I think she should have just told him that it didn't matter if he was "DR. BURKE" she would still love him no matter what.

I was going to say that she should have turned him in a long time ago. Then I remembered that Christina was a huge part of the reason Burke continued to do surgeries with his tremor in the first place.
I don't believe that Christina turned him in because of the pressure she was under or concern for the patients. It seemed more like it was revenge for the mean things Burke said to her and how he shooed her away from his last surgery.

I'm not sure whether it's a question of right or wrong--so many people were involved. Burke should not have kept doing surgeries if he felt he wasn't ready. McDreamy should have been paying attention to examining Burke instead of ranting about whatever it was he was ranting about.

Christina I think had been finally pushed over the edge, especially after being basically rejected and pushed aside for Bailey. She probably felt like she had done so much for Burke that it was not fair to be basically thrown to the curb.

It was a great episode though. Although I'm a newer watcher to the show, I find less Meredith whining=better ep. But that's just me.

It's hard to tell, but Burke felt pressured to get back to surgey. He felt pressure by Christina and by himself, like he wasn't Preston Burke if he wasn't a surgeon anymore. I was mad that christina turned him in right before burke was going to do it himself. It would have looked better to the chief if Burke had turned himself in.

I don't think she was right or wrong. She had a ruff design to make. The stress was cracking and so many people knew what was going on. George kind of figured it out. Dr Bailey knew something was going on. She was also putting her career on the line to .

I think she was kind of wrong because Dr Burke was so good to her. He let her scrub in on just about everything before he got shot. They were sleeping tighter and I dint know why she turned on him. I thought she loved him.

She was right.

The writers on Grey's Anatomy use an Aristotleon say of making a point in the series. First they show a truism up close and simple and then they show it to you further away and less focussed.

The truism here is that if a relationship is strong then it can withstand any scrutiny.

Back when Christina was just getting over her miscarriage , when her hormones were all out of wack and she needed someone to step up and take care of her, Burke did just that announcing to her and to the Chief that he was in love with her. Christina was afraid that this would cost them their careers as was Burke but Burke knew that he had nothing to be ashamed of because their relationship was strong and they would never do anything to hurt that relationship.

Now take a giant step forward and Burke is the one injured with the gun shot wound and Christina is the one who has to step up and nurse him back to health. She tries to but burke is less than honest with her about his condition. It is not until she is watching him that she discovers that his hand tremors. She tries to help hi through it with practice and with positive reinforcement but there is still something holding him back. I think it is fear but that is yet to be seen. Burke allows Shepherd to clear him for surgery by lying to Shepherd about having no problems. The Chief expect Preston to do his job. Christina offers to help him sew. Burke agrees. He shouldn't have. He is the teacher not her. He learned that lesson with Sidney when Christina had to apologize to her. At any rate, the deception as to their relationship goes on, hurting Bailey, and wearing out both Burke and Christina. The lady's surgery goes bad. It is Burke's fault. It was his stitching and his decision to leave the woman on bypass. The heart explodes in Christina's face. Why? because Burke had to know if he could do things without her even if it scared the two of them. The point is however, it could have been his stitches wer too weak that caused the heart to tear and that is a risk neither doctor should allow.

Back to the relationship. Haun tells Christina in the lobby that she can learn a lot from Burke. What you are supposed to take from this is what was Burke's greatest lesson to Christina? It was to be honest with yourself and with others about who you are and about who you are with and trust them to help you out when the going gets tough. That is why she did exactly what Burke did when he announced their relationship to the Chief. She told Richard that she was in over her head and doing things that she was no longer comfortable with. Yes, that means telling him that Preston has a hand tremor but more importantly she has a problem with her nerves and that could kill a patient as well. Burke came in to confess as well. He knows that. He needs time away from her to see that but it is there for him. This was all about him questioning his own abilities and he knows now that he can perform surgeries but that he is still lacking strength in his right hand. The question is why and the answer As I mentioned is most likely fear related. I look for a Psychiatrist to join the show, most likely a hot male psychiatrist who will help treat Izzie, George, Meredith, Christina, Derek, Addison, and Richard. I mention hot and male because Izzie needs her own McDaddy to be a rightful member of the girl's club. She is not a full member until she has slept with an attending and they are fresh out of men to hit on.

But as for Christina she was right in what she did and now it is up to her to learn that.

She was right. Burke never felt comfortable going back to work to begin with. Christina pushed him into going back to work. It was her fault that he went, so it was her responsibility to fix it.

I think that she was wrong for having suggested he hide it in the first place. And I think he was wrong for going along with it. But if she felt that she couldn't keep the secret anymore, she should have talked to him. He was obviously going to turn himself in anyway.

By the way, Sandra Oh was amazing in that episode! When she gets nominated for an emmy, this is the episode they'll show.

Definitely right...it was unethical to begin with. I'm actually surprised that he didn't confess first, I didn't think he would be the type to do that. Once she saw he wasn't thinking of the patients and was considering accepting the psotion as chief she had no choice. She did the right thing.
