I have two.
One is about elevators. I get into an elevator (the setting can vary). The elevator is going along, and then all of a sudden it goes completely nuts and starts going sideways and diagonally - never to the bottom, always to the top of whatever building I'm in. Doing loop-de-loops and everything, and eventually it exits the top of the building. I don't get hurt and the dream ends there.
The other dream is about being in a boat - again, settings vary. I get in the boat with others and shortly after that the boat just flips completely out of the water and lands upside down, with me trapped in a shallow amount of water. I always get out into the bubble of air contained in the seating area.
These dreams freak me out - they're really scary while they're happening, even though I don't die in them.
Thoughts?

I had thought about the life out of control aspect, but truthfully, my life has never been more serene. We're financially secure, our children are healthy, our marriage is good. These dreams have gone on for years, and they don't come around when I'm feeling particularly anxious about anything. I really can't think of anything that I'm anxious about...

this may sound weird but my first impression was that you are at a point in your life where you should be very content and for some reason you may feel that it was to easy? you aren't worried about stability in the long run but maybe you are are afraid that it should have been harder to get to where you are, you don't trust it. you know you are OK but there is still some fear. just for the record are you getting a little bored? hmmm i don't know why but it is there.

Elevator going diiffernt sideways = your life in different direction, problem making decision
boat flip and upside down = changes
Seems like you have problem in making decision in life. The elevator and boat flipping symbolize things in your life that you are not certain about it. Being trapped in the water also symbolizes control. Yes, you may be losing control in certain aspects in life as well. Subconsciously, you want to vent this out in dream.

A lot of people have the same nightmares over and over again! Don't worry. What are you doing in your life that may relate to the dream? Maybe it has to do with transportation objects, like the elevator and boat, or it can also have to do with you taking new twists and turns in your life, and your life is kind of messy right now, but it will eventually end, and go back to normal. You also need to do something for yourself if you have a lot of stress in your life right now, because that is what the dreams sound like to me. If they happen again, remember, you are not crazy, you just need to breathe and relax.

Water dreams are about emotions. You sound like you have some anxiety.
Not sure about the elevator one, but seem like you feel overwhelmed or not in control of things.
With dreams, the symbols are less important than the feeling about what is happening in the dream. I have had some ostensibly horrific dreams that didn't scare me as one would expect.

dreams usualy reflect the emotions that you have been feeling in a day to day life, just to an extreme. First sounds like you are going in a direction you aren't sure of or don't have control of, your uncertain. Second dream sounds like you feel like you are being forced into a dead end. However without knowing you it is hard to tell for sure.

It sounds like your subconscious is trying to tell you that you either have a huge fear of being out of control of a situation or that you are already in a slightly dangerous situation that you have no control over. Maybe you're moving in a direction in life that has you a bit concerned or that feels chaotic or dangerous.

It is just a dream... right... NO! Dreams mean something, and while they do not mean anything now, they will mean something later. Try on getting a dream catcher...or something along the lines of that.

I would not worry about them, but yet I would go to a library and get a book on dreams and the meanings of them, to get some insight.

Well i have no idea but at least you don't die in the dreams because everyone knows that if you die in a dream you die in real life also.
