It does to a certain extent.

I'd say McDonalds was a bigger culprit though. And all those 'ALL YOU CAN EAT' restaurants ... they're not really helping the cause much!

Apparently I am the first person to be on board with you. While I don't think that they are the sole proprieter, they are definitely a significant catalyst.

Coke exploits the impoverished and minorities, and uses capitalism to stuff their pockets while providing a product that contains nothing but useless calories. While it is indeed the individual American's decision to drink these Coca Cola products, what about the abundance of elementary schools and high schools across the United States that provide soda machines in the hallways? There are hundreds of schools that do not even have other options (like natural juice, water, or milk).

Coca Cola is a major player amongst trans national corporations, and they practically have a monopoly in the food industry. Now what about the advertising that they use?

Stuff and nonsense, in my opinion.

As an adult, one is accountable for his or her own actions.

Idiotic parents, who let their greedy little brats scoff Twinkies and McDonalds everyday, are responsible for the child obesity problems in most places. As for the rest - unless there's a medical problem, I suspect that the majority of obesity is caused by lack of exercise, being driven everywhere instead of walking, eating too much, making use of all the conveniences we have (eg home shopping, remote control, etc etc) and general laziness.

I drink far too much Coke, always have, and am slim.

Eash individual is responsible for their own obesity and to try and lay it off on a company is nonsense. Might as well blame McDonald's and all the rest of the fast food obesity promoters as well then.

i don't think of they should be held responsible, otherwise we will be having fairly some those idiots attempting to sue McDonalds for making them benefit 30 pounds, or some dumb crap like that. They make a good number of money off of serving human beings the worst, maximum unhealthiest foodstuff, yet we've the alternative if we pick to devour it or no longer. Tobacco organizations make billions on promoting us cigarettes which has a mild danger of probable making us ill, yet I nevertheless make contributions to them, so i'm taking duty for my personal movements. in the adventure that they were to be held responsible for the burden problems epidemic thats happening right here, that purely supplies lazy human beings an excuse to make some quick money for themselves being overweight from ingesting that crap. No way.

I completely disagree, the fault lies squarely with the people eating and drinking products which are not good for you. Coca cola and mcdonalds just provide a service, its up to the individual to choose wisely :)

I disagree.

People need to realize that they are responsible for their own actions and they need to get a little thing called willpower. Coca Cola does not hold guns to peoples' heads, forcing them to consume their products.

Not unless someone holds a gun to your head and forces you to consume mass quantities of fast food and drink. It's a personal choice to eat that stuff. The individual who does is the only one responsible for their own obesity — or their parents.

Whoever is obese, is responsible for themselves. Coca Cola does not compel anyone to drink their sodas. People need to consume moderately.

I know some fat-**** people who never drink coca-cola. I do not think you can point to any one consumer food product as being MAINLY responsible for anything.
