The quickest & easiest way to do that id by pushing the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard (next the "Scroll Lock" button). Once you push that it copies the image to the "Clipboard". Then you can "Paste" (Ctrl-V) in to Word or Image editing program.
There is another way to do that is a Yahoo! Widget called "Screen Shooter". The Widget Program & Screen Shooter are Free.

Yeah its called Windows. Just hit the Print Screen key and then paste the picture somewhere.

You don't need it just click the button Prnt Scrn, the open Windows Paint, the select edit then paste and you'll have a pic from your desk to save in any format that you may need (JPG GIF, etc.)

There is one program i know of that some businesses use... HyperSnap ... Its a commercial product, not freeware ... so it's not available to the general public... i don't know if there's any public versions. here's one site i found from google for a trial version... http://www.hyperionics.com/
