The prequels were an opportunity missed. The originals stand and head and shoulders above them.
The originals have better acting, believable dialogue deliverance and characters you cared about. The prequels have special effects and thats all, the story is a very weak one.
Best Star Wars movie would have to be The Empire Strikes Back. Everything goes wrong for our heroes and has not only the best land battle from the series (The battle of Hoth) but the greatestst lightsaber battle (Father v Son) which ends with the most famous line possibly in a film.

New. The new ones provide a much better action packed adventure, despite what people may say. The prequals offer the most exciting opening (Battle over Coruscant, Episode III), closing (Battle of Geonosis, Episode II), and lightsaber duel (Duel of Fates, Episode I; Battle of Heroes, Episode III) than any of the Star Wars saga. Plus, I love the Seps and the Republic. Can't get enough of those battle droid and clone troopers! :)

No questions, the old is where the magic is. A new idea, a new mythology. Creativity to create the magic. The new are visually stunning but the old are the core of us star wars fans being. Empire strikes back . . . What? . . . Darth Vader is Luke's father. What? . . . we have to wait two years to find out what happened to Han Solo! ACK! Loved it!

The Original Trilogy.
My favourite being Empire Strikes bak, however if I was only allowed to watch one of the films again it would be New Hope as its the only one which stands on its own.

I would like to make a trilogy of the first two, and the last one. Take out the others except for parts of the fifth one. I really don't like Return of the Jedi.

But my favorite episode would have to be Revenge of the sith, It was by far the saddest episode.

Old - they should have done the first ones before they did the original trilogy, if they wanted them to be successful.

"The Phantom Menace", the characters and the atmosphere are quite relaxing and done nicely.
I find it confusing on why it was rated low by some, I guess it's too bright for some who prefer darkness.
