Realistically, maybe we won't ever have it. But aiming for it is noble, wouldn't you say?

I'm afraid as long as there is greed and intolerence there will never be true peace.Think about it,the first world war in 1914-1918 was supposed to be "the war to end all wars" just over 30 years after it finished the same countries were at it again except even more people died that time ! Then the Korean,Vietnam,Afghanistan and two Iraq wars later (and these are just some of the "Bigger" ones we are still at it.Plus look at what the civilised countries spend on defence yearly !! You don't spend that much on weapons not to use them.

I wish with all my heart that it wasn`t a fantasy ,but i think it is .The reason why i think this way is ,the people at the top who have the power to make the decisions are the pushy aggresive ones who are willing to trample over any one weaker to get what they want (they wouldn`t be where they are if they wasn`t like that ) so the unassuming peace loving people will never be in a position to achieve peace, because their own nature holds them back

i agree with you. i mean everyone wants to be on the top and there is only a place for one person so everybody fights for that place. if there was world peace this would mean that the world is over and there are no human beings on the earth anymore. thats what i think .........peace = end of the world

World peace will only ever be possible if the following things happen:
1. We get a world government
2. We figure out how to download information into the brain and implant information into the brains of babies at birth.
In that case, world peace might be possible.

OMG, I was just talking about this with someone on here yesterday but about a different topic. I am always telling my husband that there will ever be peace in the world although I wish with all my heart that there was. I believe a person can only change if he wants to in order to save himself. However, on this topic I agree with you 100%.

Very true, I doubt there will ever be true world peace. There has been war from the beginning of all time. If you go from a Biblical standard, even when God was with his angels Lucifer tried to become as God. Then he had created Adam and Eve and they wanted to be as God. There has never really been true peace, so do I think a world so full of hate will ever have peace, sadly no.

Yes! Reason well its is down to the most primitive part of the brain you see the raw territorial instinct. Men ( sorry lads but the primative brain is larger in men) are extreamly territorial and cannot share so there will never be compromise so there can never be world peace.

I don't believe that.
If we find a natural balance with checks in place to prevent one person assuming control over all we'll be find.
People in my experience just want to get on with their lives with a minimum of fuss and hassle. Keep them content and we'll have no worries.
It's like the whole 'Give a man a fish argument

I am a senior citizen and have seen war up close and I am afraid that we are very far from World Peace. I think the worst is still to come on our soil in the US.
