One year Santa was having a very bad time. The elves knocked on the door saying the gifts would be late. The reindeer knocked on the door saying Rudolph's nose wasn't glowing. Mrs. Claus knocked on the door saying Santa's suit had a hole in it that she could not fix. Well, then this little angel knocked on the door asking Santa where to put the Christmas tree......

Everyone doesn't put an angel on top, but when you say xmas you are cutting christ from Christmas. I have a bunny Rabbit with wings on the top of my tree. Family Heirloom...

It symbolises the Angel Gabriel appearing to the shepherds to tell them that Jesus was born. The star is for the star of Bethlehem that they had to follow. I think I rembered it right from Sunday School!

the tradition of the angel is because the angel represents gabriel who foretold of the birth of christ....the star if you prefer to use one is to represent the star in the east that guided the magi to the saviour

i think it just became a tradition. maybe it was beacuse a angel told Mary of her having Jesus. thats a good this to find out though
