I use water and baking soda, then I polish them.
Good luck!

I have used Orange Glo and it did a very nice job. Try to get the liquid version. The spay tends to get all over the place and will make your floor slippery.
Use a soft cloth, like an old t-shirt or sweat socks and soak the cloth. Apply to the wood and let it process for 10 minutes, then wipe it off with a clean cloth. If the cabinets are in bad shape, you may need to repeat the process.
You can also try Murphy's Oil soap. Follow directions on bottle.
Wood is porous and probably has soaked up the grease so be patient and don't damage the cabinets with harsh cleaners.

Murphy's Oil Soap is by far the best!!!
Please don't use the harsher above-suggested cleansers on your cabinets. You'll ruin them. Even treated wood is still porous and will absorb those chemicals (probably why the one's cabinets were lighter after she used Clorox wipes on them).

I used those Clorox wipes in the yellow container on my cabinets, as well as wooden handrails and banisters, and it turns out my wood is a lot lighter than I thought! It took all the grimy crap off.

Yes, buy orange cleaner (its by the pledge in stores) then buy Lemon oil to put on afterwards. I just done it for Thanksgiving, and mine turned out great, looked brand new!
