I assume you mean the campaign for leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada.
If so, I'm sorry to say it looks as if it's come down to a two-way horse race between former NDP Ontario Premier Bob Rae and Michael Ignatieff, who just recently discovered he was Canadian in the first place.
My personal favorite had been former Montréal Canadien great Ken Dryden, but he pretty well killed his chances by being one of a sum total of 14 MPs to vote against the measure to recognize Québec as a nation within Canada earlier this week. The provice of Québec is a Liberal stronghold, and Dryden's perceived anti-francophone stance will cost him in a big way there.
Either way, the Grits will likely head towards the left, thus handing the next general election to the Tories.

As of now (Friday night), Michael Ignatieff is the front runner in the Liberal Leadership race. However, I honestly dont think that he is going it win. Bob Rae is absolutely picking up momentum, his support is growing and Joe Volpe said now that he is going to drop out of the race and endorse Bob Rae to be the next leader. Bob Rae is an experienced politician and Michael Ignatieff, well he hasn't even been in Canada in the past couple of years. Also, there are a lot of comments made by Michael Ignatieff that damages his image and I personaly think that the Liberal Party Members don't think that Michael Ignatieff would be able to defeat Stephen Harper in the next election. I was watching CBC yesterday night and they interviewed the Conservative Elections Campaign manager and he personally admitted that he would absolutely detest fighting an election with the Liberal Party if Bob Rae was their leader. The Conservative party views Bob Rae is a major threat as opposed to Michael Ignatieff where they are most likely to capitalize on his inconsistencies. Gooo Bob Raeee!

I don't know about the liberal leadership, that's separate. The Democratic leader for the nomination is currently Hillary Clinton. Pelosi is not running! Where is that idea coming from lol?

Senator Hillary Clinton has taken an early lead as the most likely 2008 Democratic Party presidential nominee although she has not formally announced her candidacy. Delaware Senator Joe Biden, Connecticut Senator Christopher Dodd, former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel, and Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack have announced their intentions to seek the nomination. Other possible candidates include former national nominees John Kerry, John Edwards, and Al Gore, as well as retired General Wesley Clark, Indiana Senator Evan Bayh, Illinois Senator Barack Obama (who could become the first African-American on a major party ticket), and New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson (who could become the first Hispanic on a major party ticket). Based on past election cycles, analysts expect serious candidates will have to announce their intentions by the end of 2006 in order to secure pledges of funding and recruit high visibility supporters.

John Edwards is a good possibility. Barock Obama is a good man and is very popular. However, he lacks experience as a one term senator. In addition to this, there is the race factor. It's a sad but true fact that there is still much racism and extremism in this country. Kerry may give it another go, but he wouldn't make it past New Hampshire.

I believe you are asking about the Democratic party. Liberal is a degree found in either political party. There are liberal and conservative Republicans and liberal and conservative Democrats.
