Does any one else feels the same way?

I agree.

I mean, in all the other games, the screen would change and you'd be in a battle, that i can live without. But I really liked how every time you won a battle, you got gil, instead of randomly geting items worth 30 gil each and going to sell it, AND the victory fanfare, you know, the song that plays every time you won a battle. I found that to be a real, i dunno, confidence boost i guess. Just cause the tune was upbeat and catchy, I didn't mind listening to it over and over again. It made me feel accomplished. But in this one, it's just like "Hey there's a wolf. Now it's dead. Let's go kill something else." It's not the same.

And then, with the gambits, it's like you don't even have to do anything, you just sit and watch while your characters fight their own battles. It's not as involved as the other games.

And quickenings, they're WICKED cheap. I mean, you can do 10 in a row, plus get an extra special thing, and it'll kill a boss in one hit. It doesn't seem fair to me.

I also don't think the storyline is as well-thought as the other ones. I don't feel as involved in this game as I did in, say, seven or ten. And when there is a cutscene, I find myself getting bored of the storyline. I don't know...I really like the game, but there are quite a few things they could've done to make it feel more Final Fantasy-esque.

yea i agree with girlgamer... it's an awesome game
and maybe it's about time FF grew up a little and stop being childish... but it seems everytime square tries to make the game darker and more real ppl cry about it...like ff8 ...great game..but ppl cried saying it was too dark... sad.... and now ppl are crying about this game because things have changed... i mean did you wanna hear that fanfare after battles for the rest of your life? =p in this version we get the fanfares after beating bosses and espers... now those are real accomplishments... hearing that victory song after EVERY single battle is a bit much no? i always used to think so...but now it seems square has fixed that one problem... yes it does seema bit different from the previous FF in the series.... but FFx2 gave you a preview of the license board... and the gambit system is awesome... if, like the other guy was saying, it makes the game too auto ...then you have only yourself to blame no? get ur butt in the game and play..instead of setting all those gambits and sitting back... how can u complain that the game is too auto when YOU set the gambits that way lol.... oh well... i personally like to be in the game so i dont use the gambits for almost anything but healing magics and items.... it's all in how u like to play... thats why this game is so great... its way way customizable to your own preference.... also the quickenings dont kill a boss in one shot.... even with a 10+ chain...what weak boss were you fighting.... mist chains suck anyways... tho they look kool... and once again if you think its cheap then why are you using it lol... im sorry im not trying to pick on your answer..but if you're gonna complain like that then u should be ready for some replies.... anyways its a great game and a great advancement for the FF series

It is a lot different, but I still enjoy it. I really like the battle system. But the storyline is much darker, and more "realistic" , and not so much "fantasy" based, but I like it.
