As long as you are stuck sitting in the classroom, you may as well take notes. Even if you don't catch everything the teacher says anything that they write on the board is a point they are trying to stress because it is important. You may also pay more attention if you participate in the class, even if it is only to ask the teacher to better explain a part of the lesson you are having trouble understanding. I know its hard to keep up because I was in sports year-round in high school, involved in a couple of clubs and had a job. Better time management will help to alleviate your problem.

Prioritize, organize and do you homework first. I have had to learn this on mulitpul occasions... like now for example. I have a presentation due in less than a week, and I havent finished it. however i did know about it for the last 3 months. If i had done a little here and a little there I wouldnt have had to be cramming last minute and i would be able to spend more time with friends.

You have to pay more attention in class! While you are in class don't worry about what you are going to do after school. Take all of the notes and pay attention to the teacher. Learn while you are in school and worry about having fun after the bell rings.

You already know what the problem is: you're not paying attention in class. If you pay attention and do your homework when it is assigned, you will have more time for other things. Playing soccer is great, but I doubt they will let you play if you flunk your classes.

There is no easy way. You have to give 100% in your school work. If you learn it the first time around you won't have to spend hours studying and trying to catch up - which means you can spend that time having fun instead.

Revise what is being taught in school later at home. if your exams are near then forget about fun and concentrate on studies.though playing soccer for an hour or so is healthy thing. hope this solve your problem if you still feel something to ask, your welcome.
