I don't mean to offend the ASKER of the question but the people I hang out with don't believe that being in a homosexual lifestyle is moral or good.

I happen to be a Christian and in the bible Leviticus it says that homosexuality is an abomination and a sin to God.

However there is absolutely nothing in the Bible that says it is a sin to be handicapped.

Christians believe that God is faithful to forgive our sins if we confess them and ask for forgiveness. What is dangerous now (and I noticed one of the ANSWERERS to your question also noted this) is that it is getting to be more and more MORAL to be in a homosexual same sex lifestyle.

SO you have the world saying its good and moral and the bible is in direct contradication to it.

However I remember in the bible there was a handicapped person and they actually asked Jesus and I quote "Who sinned to make this man crippled? His mother or father?"

Jesus said "Neither his mother or Father but to show Glory to God" and then Jesus healed him.

So I think I would "re-word" your question. I think it would be good to ask it like this so as to be even more specific.

"Why are homosexuals accepted into society more than handicapped folks when it is not a sin to be handicapped?"

I see where you are coming from and it is a very good question though even the way you asked it. But my friends and family don't even put Handicapped folks in the same group as folks choosing to have same sex sinful relations.

Not even close. There are still some folks out there honest enough to say the bible says homosexuality is evil.

I am one of them.

If you'll notice by our government's standards, the gay nation has still largely been unaccepted. Gay people do not have the rights of straight people, cannot marry or care for their families through health benefits, etc. Discrimination exists hugely in all forms, whether you are gay, a minority, disabled, or elderly. Perhaps you feel that gays are more commonly accepted nowadays, because they are a larger, more vocal community.

Of course, one should never be accepted over another. I don't want to be preachy here, so take it as this. People will always fear what they do not know. In a world where we learn to walk on eggshells and tippytoe around the politically correct, you may not come across many people who will look at the physically disabled without judgement, fear or prejudice. Acceptance comes through exposure and experience. In the meantime while you're waiting for change to happen... you just gotta be stronger than everyone else and toughen up.

I think people are much more accepting of the physically disabled then they are of gays.

I mean I never heard of people protesting handy capped people and telling them God hates cripples.

----

The problem that I know of that the physically disabled deal with don't come from being accepted but the fact that people do/make things without thinking about how it maybe a challenge for the physically disabled.

for example buildings that only have stairs and no way for people in wheelchairs to get into or move between floors.

I doubt the designers did this because they hate people in wheelchairs but because they didn't thing about them.

There's a gay nation? There's a physically disabled nation? Where? And tons of people don't accept the "gay nation". If they did then there wouldn't be amendments banning gay marriage.

Not everyone accepts the gay nation.

And some of us do accept the people that are physically disabled.

That's a really big jump in your imagination...What makes you think we don't accept the physically disabled nation?

I'm personally insulted that you would assume such a thing of me.
