We are 2 months behind on all of our bills and need $2,000.00 to catch up on all of them. We are looking for a service or someone we can call that assists in giving families money that need it. Any ideas?

Go to the Cabinet For Children and Families. You can apply for food stamp benfits there (freeing up money for bills) and also if not there they can tell you where to go for other types of assistance. I once had my rent paid for one month from a gov agency. Some utility companies will offer assistance for your utility bill - call the particular company - Like here they have winter assistance for gas/electric bills for some people - But start with the Cabinet for Children and Families - they can give you more info from there
Good Luck

If you are in the United States, here is what you can do.
Go visit your local Human Services Dept. They have forms you
can fill out for Food Stamps, ANFDC, and Medicaid.
Food Stamps helps with food. Medicaid is medical insurance
for your children. ANFDC is aid to needy families with dependent children. You can be on that for up to 2 years, if youu meet the requirments.
Also, contact your local housing authority. There is a program
called LIHEAP that can help with heating costs of your home.
If your heat is from gas, if you qualify, that will help with the gas bill. If your heat is from fuel oil or electric and you qualify, they
will help pay those bills.
Also try your local Salvation Army. They sometimes help out
with utility assistance. Try the local Red Cross as well.
Local Churches sometimes have money available to help out.
Also, these places can refer you to more places.
Most of them require you to provide them with the following
information.
Photo ID for all adults in the household.
Birth Certificates for the children under 18.
Social Security Cards for all household members.
Copy of Lease or Mortgage agreement
Copies of all utility bills (gas, electric, water, phone, cable, etc.)
Proof of all income for the last 30 days.
(Pay stubs, Social Security award letters, unemployment award letter, etc.)
Copies of latest bank statement.
Copies of Car insurance bills, cell phone bills, medical bills,
car payment bills, etc.
They will also need info on your assets. (Ie..Do you own land?
Is your car paid off ? Is your home paid off? Do you own a boat,
snowmobile, ATV, etc.?)
If your family's income falls below 125 percent of the Federal poverty level, for the number of people in your household, and
if you don't have much money available in assets....you should be eligible for some assistance from somewhere.
Also, try calling your utility companies. Most will work out a payment arrangement with you.
Good Luck & God Bless

You need to start looking at what you can sell first. Talk to your family members, but then it's time for one or two of you to get another job. You need to cut out things you don't need. Try internet service for starters.....cable, etc. Without being disrespectful, it is probably some irresponsibility that landed you here. Don't look for someone to bail you out. Bail yourself out.

Most importantly you need to get some financial counseling and learn how to get on a budget. Stick with the basics. You need to do away with the extra's until you can afford them.

Contact your church (if you attend one) and see if they can assist. Otherwise contact social services in your area and see what you might qualify for.
