Is this the baby or is this just something that happens later in pregnancy. It hurts real bad when I stand up but I have to sit all day at my job.

The fact is that position of the baby can cause backache in late pregnancy. If the baby's back is against the your back, this can press on your sacrum. Off course, you know it is causing discomfort. Pelvic rocking on the hands and knees may help shift the baby more to the front and relieve the pain because of problems with tailbone. (This unfortunatley does not work for everyone.)

I went through this same thing. I would bring a pillow to work and sit on it. They should understand. Also, you say you HAVE to sit all day at your job, but if you are prego, you really need to take a souple of breaks from sitting and stand or walk around when you get the free time. I don't know what exactly your job is, but it should be possible to do that. Good luck! You don't have that much further to go! : )

Sucks doesn't it?

It always helped for me to actually sit on a harder surface like a table chair vs. heavily upholstered sofas, etc (so that my tailbone wouldn't actually touch it). I'd also put a pillow right above my butt (lower back). It helped every time.

Hang in there. You're almost home free and this little discomfort will soon be a distant memory.

Dont worry about it till after the baby is born if it keeps happining than go see a doc. Good luck to you and congrats. (get the epidural) ;-)

wow. you're lucky that they just started. I've been getting them since around I was 26 weeks. Try some tylenol. That helped for me and a pillow to sit in a chair, and it made it more comfortable to sit and when I had to stand up. Good luck

Either broken, chipped, or bruised tailbone, you can google tons of info on it especially during pregnancy. I am in the same boat (I chipped mine right before I got pregnant), I use a childs blowup pool ring to sit on at work. Looks goofy, but it beats the pain I feel when I try to stand up.

Get one of those "donut" thingies to sit on, they make all the difference! You'll appreciate it for the first couple of weeks after you give birth, too!

alot of times it has to do with the position of the fetus, but watch out for bowel movements and doing anything to strain yourself, its very common to get hemorrhoids at this stage
