Being in the church building itself does not make or not make you a believer.
The building is just the place where those with like beliefs gather together to encourage one another and to learn more of Him.
The actual body of Christ is the believers.
But the Scriptures do tell us not to forsake the assemblying of ourselves together ..... for it has an intended purpose.
Search your own heart as to why you do not enjoy being with other believers; some come to realize that it is fear of having to be more committed when in formal worship service.
Keep in mind, the Scriptures also share to be ashamed of Him before men, likewise He will be you before the Father.
Then you hear the sad comment that you do not wish to be among hypocrites - well you have no problem being with them at work, the store, the ballgames, etc ........ people are human and will make mistakes/sin - that is the reason Christ paid the price He did ...... believers are not nor ever will be perfect here on earth.....just forgiven.
If you have an issue being involved with a large church, find a small group or vice versa - He will meet you there also - regardless!

Unlike a previous visitor who gave this question a "thumbs down" I think this is a great question, and one that I have often heard asked before. I used to be a person who believed in God but didn't go to church. This describes a lot of people in their 20s in the U.S. The easy answer is "no." But you will find that as you grow in your faith, if you are serious about it and about reading the Bible, you will come to appreciate the importance of the fellowship of fellow believers. Also, when you face strife and difficulty in life, you will find that non-believers will turn their backs on you, but a church family won't. They will be genuinely concerned about you, unlike most of society. I predict that if you are sincere, you will eventually end up in church. And by the way, many churches have services that last less than two hours.

No, I don't think that you have to go to church to worship God or a higher power. You can do that anywhere, just like people pray to him outside of church, that's the same as worshiping him outside of church.

I think that you don't have to be in church to worship God. With that being said, in the times that we live in, it is often difficult to take a step back from all the worries that occupy our heads and worship God, so although I am saying that you don't have to be in church to worship God, being in church might help you focus better. But I don't believe you should be there if you really think its a waste of time.

I believe that a church is a place where people go to have fellowship with other believers or to hear messages about God or a higher power. I don't believe they need to go to church to get into Heaven if that's what you're asking.

No You can stay at home and read the Bible and pray just as well . I think it is best if you attend church and learn about the Bible because if you have any questions you will have someone to teach you ..Fellowship is great but the most Important lesson is that you worship the Lord.

I don't believe God only listens to people who show up at a building and pay a % of their income to them. I talk to God everyday usually more then once. I do it siting in my house or in my car. Most days I say a prayer to him and talk to him right from my bed before I go to sleep at night and I have found since I have been doing this many good things have happened to me. I just talk to him like he is a best friend and I know he hears me. I also don't need to go to church every Sunday to be closer to God. I have watched Joel Osteen on Sunday mornings for a while and he is a very uplifting kind of person to watch. You don't have to believe in a certain religion to watch him. I grew up not having any religion. My mother is Jewish and my father is an ex communicated Catholic (he got divorced before marrying my mom) So I learned nothing from them about religion. I have found my own answers as an adult.

NO - I believe that worship of God, or a higher power is better shown in the way you live your life. The way you treat others, etc

To worship the Lord, all you have to do is gather with one person and study the Bible and discuss it together...(wherever two or more people are gathered in My name, I will be there)....a church is not a building per say, but rather the body of believers.

i've got faith in God because of the fact i will in no way undergo in suggestions a time once I did no longer experience His presence. curiously sufficient, i did no longer even start up going to a sturdy bible coaching church, or learn the bible, until i replaced into in my mid 40's and that needless to say made all the version. I understand plenty now and Jesus is so close and energetic iin my existence. it is available to all of us, by using ways. The bible says look for and you shall locate. Conversely, if a individual does no longer look for, they gained't locate. it is relatively that easy.
