Even though the Marlins management has said that they are untouchable, you might see them making deals for Dontrelle Willis and Cabrera. The Yankees are interested in Willis but not Cabrera. I don't see the Yanks having enough youngsters to interest the fish.
You're going to see Manny Ramirez on another team in a week or two. I think that hurts Ortiz a lot. They can now pitch around him to get to JD Drew. JD Drew just doesn't scare me as much as Manny did. Manny was a Yankee Killer something like the 2006 Tigers were.
The Angels are hot on a few players so you should see some activity there. The Phills lost Wolf so they're in the market for a Starter.
It should be fun.

I have this feeling that Boson will crash and burn with the Japanese deal. It's been looking like all week that the only reason they did it was to keep the Yankees from getting him. How dumb was that? The Yankees or Mets will land Zito, (probably the Yankees...deep pockets!) The Cubs have already improved although Sweet Lou is NOT the answer. Detroit now has a year under their belt and should be a lot better down the stretch next season. The Twins were lucky and I don't see them doing much in the winter meetings. they just don't spend money!! Never did!! The Dodgers picking up Wolfe was a joke. Wolfe can't win them a pennant. He's an average pitcher at best plus he's had injury problems the last two seasons. The Yankees priority is pitching and as I said they will figure it all out by Spring Training I'm sure. Finally I hope Barry Bonds ends up in jail and McGwire does not get elected into the HOF. Stay tuned for more later.

i dont think that there will be many big named players being traded this year except for Manny. Since the Red Sux are close to signing Drew, they don't need Manny anymore since they don't like him on top of it all..you'll see the Yankees get a pitcher like Lilly and Meche..Detroit may wanna add another bat to their line up by adding a middle of the road out fielder..Gary Matthews Junior would have been good but the Tigers probably would not have come close to the offer that the Angels made..the deal was way over-priced soo i dont blame the tigers for not goin anywhere with that guy..Boston will land some minor leaguers/young pro's in a deal with Manny..The Mets will prob. land him if traded..And finally..the Barry Zito saga..The Yankees WILL NOT sign him..His asking price is way too high and he's not worth that kind of money..Even tho the Yankees have a lot of money and has had a history for over-paying guys who arent worth that kind of money, they will not do it for Zito..The reason they don't spend money like they use to is because Cashman has been taking over a lot of the talks and proposals since Steinbrenner is now becoming very old..Soo don't expect much in the winter meetings!!

Whatever happens, the White Sox are going to stop Detroit from getting into the World Series. Face it Georgie, your Tigers are a have been. They did good this year but they won't be back. The fine White Sox with some of the best fans around are going to the World Seires this year. You should take your avatar down as you will be embarassed to have it up come the new season when the Tigers start off with a losing streak. They will wonder what happened to their pizzaz when the White Sox hammer them.

A lot of teams have a lot of holes to fill, so there will be plenty of activity. My SF Giants haven't done anything yet. If they don't make numerous moves, they'll field a team of minor leaguers and finish dead last.

The Mets will sign Zito.
The A's will sign Bonds.
Bonds will continue taking steroids.
Pujols will keep whining about not winning the MVP, thats because HGH messes with your hormones.

Not really sure what else.

many teams need to improve their coaching staff. many just think that the offseason is just players. its coaches to and in my opinion the yankees should start to look in to some one new because Torre is begining to change the team's winningness in the season. also i belive that A-Rod is the most overrated player he should be moved from the yankees and put into teams that actually need him.
