Daycares are full of children of all ages which inevitbley means germs. Make sure that you do lots of handwashing with you and your baby (you can even just use a wipe for her).
All daycares are supposed to disinfect everything at the end of the day, some do it more than that. This should help to eliminate transferring of germs. She'll most likely wind up getting sick a few times, and although it's going to be a struggle for you and her you will both get through this and as she gets older her body will slowly become immune to a lot of the illnesses that are going around because she will have been exposed to them.
My 2 older daughters were in daycare and they were sick a good amount of times but nothing that made me think twice about finding some other care. And the best thing that I've learned....my oldest (she is in 1st grade) hardly ever gets sick these days while 2 of her friends who were never in day care get sick all the time. My 4 year old gets colds but the only time she really gets hit hard is when the stomach flu goes around her school. It will be beneficial down the road, good luck!
**oh and I agree with the person who wrote about airborne, I love it as well!

Brace yourself. She will indeed get sick a lot (and may have subsequent sinus infections & ear infections). Washing hands, Airborne, and a good diet with lots of Vitamin C are all good preventative measures. Unfortunately, since kids are contagious before they appear sick, there is no good way to really avoid it altogether.
It's also good to ask your prospective daycare what their policy is on this. If they seem dedicated to avoiding sharing germs and say "we wash hands all the time and call parents when kids seem sick or have a fever" that's a good sign. A lot of places will just say, "Well they all share everything, there's not much you can do." - that might be a sign to keep looking.
Kids are destined to go through this whether it's daycare, preschool or kindergarten, so at least know that she's building up good antibodies!

i found that giving my daughter infant vitamins helps her get sick less. the ones i use are Enfamil, and they are sold by all the other vitamins. for you, maybe do the same thing, take vitamins to help boost your immune system, and wash your hands a LOT. also when you bring your daughter home from daycare you should wash her hands, this can be tricky with little ones but it is worth it in the long run. ask the people at daycare to wash her hands every time they change her diaper, my daycare does that and it is a very good protective measure for children

I run an inhome daycare,I keep everything disinfected, toys soaked in bleach once a week and I don't allow sick children to come to daycare until they are not sick any more, ask your provider questions on how she tries to keep sickness away and about any cleaning issues.

Buy her one of those Hospital Face Masks and tell the day care workers to keep it on her. They really can help.
If, she was Breast Fed that will help most. Then maybe a Vitamin enriched formula. My son was Breast Fed so he never got sick, except for a Stomach Virus once, that was about 3-5 days of a sad moment for me. Not much to do but keep them Hydrated. Doctor did give us Pedialite, I think it like a Baby's Gatorade.

Tons of hand washing. Buy purell also. Wash your hands before you leave work and wash your hands before you pick your baby up, do the same to your baby with a wet wipe and a drop of purell.
