Nope... They are definitely not championship contenders, they is a big difference between the regular season and the playoffs. In the playoffs, the game slows down to a half-court game and teams like the Spurs with superb half-court defense have a greater chance of winning 7 game series. The only team I have seen to have relative success in the playoffs with a fast-paced, fast break oriented offence is the Pheonix suns.
I think Jerry SLoan deserves to win the NBA coach of the year, though.

They are pretty good, but not as good as they have been playing. Just look at the Atlanta Hawks in 1999-2000 when they started 11-0 just as the Lakers did that year. People started (pre-maturely) saying that the Hawks would meet the Lakers in the finals, yet the Hawks didn't even make the playoffs. However, the Jazz will make the playoffs, probably as a 5 to 7 seed, then get schlacked by some team like the Spurs, Suns, or Mavs.

The Jazz do have a solid team. No superstars means total team play the way Jerry Sloan likes it. Injuries are always an issue when talking about these things in December. Re-ask the question in April. Go Lakers!

The Jazz are really good, but I honestly don't see them winning a championship this year. But hey, anything is possible... who thought the Pistons would win it in 2004? This Jazz team is similar and could suprise people.

It seems as tho, they always do great during regular season, then when they finally make it to the playoffs (which they usually do) they end up choking. Too much preassure. They are good contenders every year.

For now, yes they are, just wait until they get in a losing streak. Look out, here come the Phoenix Suns, they have won 5 in a row.
