£150 owed to me and the courts found judgement in my favour and ordered him to pay. But he hasn't paid them and now the courts say "sorry", there's nothing they can do and it's over to me - bailiffs are not an option since he rents his home and therefore claims all the furniture belongs to the landlord, he doesn't have a bank account that we can trace. Courts are useless, and say it is over to me to recover the money that is due to me even though they have ordered him to pay.
So, ideas please (legal ones preferred) on how to get my £150 back from him, by fair means or foul but preferably one that won't get me arrested.
P.S. Don't ask me to threaten him - I'm a 5'3" gorgeousfluffpot and he's a 6'6" bricklayer ... I suspect I'd come off worse in a fight!

Thanks for the clerk of court suggestion - however, he's the one who says that the courts can only provide the order but cannot enforce it! Daft, I know, but I have to instruct them what action to take next and if the builder doesn't own his home or have a traceable bank account, what can I ask the clerk to do?

I would kiss goodbye to the money.
BUT!!!! It seems you know alot about him and i assume youknow where to find him?
Put 4 six inch nails under each of him tyres on his van and get your own back like that.
Good idea if its 4am when you do it.
Good luck

Dont understand why the court wont prosecute?? I was in the same boat over a car mechanic. he had to pay me £500 within 7 days, he didnt and the court sent the bailiff round who got my money.

If no joy, do his van in! Spray it with gloss paint and see how much work he gets then! Slash the tyres and brick his windows!! Ooooh I am so mad now I could do it myself!!

Get someone else to do it and make sure you have an airtight alibi!

Surely he must have something that the bailiff can seize - does he drive a car, he must have a mobile phone, personal posessions - anything that can be sold at auction?? He may not have enough to even pay you but it'll pee him off to lose something he loves and maybe teach him a lesson. Get the court bailiffs to go - they have more rights xx

£150 isn't that much, I would write it off, he sounds very experienced and well aware of his legal rights and I reckon he cons people for a living. We are in the same situation, but owed a lot more, £3,900 and the said person has gone bankrupt. Every now and then I remember this amount of money owed to us but there is no hope of ever recovering it (legally). I personally think this scum is clued up and knows every trick in the book, if you can get him a bad reputation then name and shame him.

The next step here is to get a distress warrant issued against him. The bailiffs can then be called in.

see if you can find his landlord and check if the furniture is really his or not, it most likely that some of it atleast is his and can betaken from him.
