in my town about 6 years ago they passed a city ordinance that made all restraunts install seperate ventillation systems for smoking sections. but apparently that wasn't good enough, because in the recent elections they passed a new law saying you can't smoke in public, period. even outside a public building. you're only supposed to be able to smoke in your car or in your home. i'm not a smoker, but seriously, this whole anti smoking thing is getting way out of hand. the bars and clubs will be losing A LOT of business because of this.

That's very popular in Egypt, only they call it a Hooka Lounge (spelling) I live in california and I'm NOT sure but I thought I saw a building that said coming soon, Hooka Lounge. But my husband was driving a little on the fast side, guess I should check to see if that's what it said. I think it's a good idea! (I'm not a smoker though) As much as people are against smoking these days it may be hard. In my opinion, I don't see the harm as long as those who enter are 18 with ID. Besides, if they want to cut their lives short because they want to smoke and get lung cancer, have heart problems and/or die because of it then let them. I don't care if they kill themseves with smoke, just as long as I don't have to be in that place. It may sound harsh but that should be their choice to open a place up like that...... And for crying out loud, they even ban smoking outside of buildings in some areas. So why not give them a place where they can. Just my thoughts.

Smoking shouldn't be allowed in bars and restaurants anyway. Smoking in restaurants and bars is banned here in New York state (USA), and I couldn't be happier. I really hate to go out in areas where there is a lot of cigarette smoke, because I can tell. Breathing problems, stinky clothes, etc.

NO. If they had to install new ventilation systems that would make the cost of food/drinks go up for everyone. Why should non-smokers be made to pay more for their food/drinks just so the smokers don't have to get up off their lazy butts and go outside where they belong!

Naaah! I'm not a smoker, but a little smoke won't hurt you. Heck, if it weren't for smoke, the old song "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" might never have been written!

Smoking is disgusting. If restraunts around here aloud smoking I would not go to them as I dont smoke. Thankfully we have a no public smoking law.
Anyone that thinks smoking is ok in public places around people that dont smoke is selfish.

No Need. In Lex,KY your not aloud to smoke in public places. It was bars too but think they revamped that part of it.
They used to just have seperate sections for smokers/non-smokers.

I think they should. It helps to keep the area clean and fresh for both smokers and non-smokers.

They should have them everywhere to discourage airborne illnesses, not just for smoking. Here's a thumbs-up.
