I'm writing a sociology paper on this so spill your guts please. I was born in raised in New Jersey in a very diverse community. So I have seen racism a lot but I am thankful for the diversity I experienced. It made me who I am today. Anyway. . .Do you think racism is still a prevalent problem in America today, even though it seems to be seen less as a problem and dicussed less by society. What do you think the causes and effects are of racism?

All you have to do is read the posts on YA and you will find out just how rampant racism truly is. Unfortunately it is everywhere.

Unfortunately yes, its very prevalent today. Racism has come a long way since say the 1960's when it was really bad but there are STILL alot of people out there that will not conform to the new way of thinking & give every person a fair chance no matter what color they are, where they come from, what religion they are or just cause they do not look like them.

Yes. Racism is still prevalent today, but the more overt forms are less common. With the gradual decline in overt forms, racism has become an issue of low priority. Racism is thought to be a thing of the past, even though the more detrimental, systemic forms of racism are still widespread.

I was also born and raised in NJ so I know whats it like too. But the way that I see racism depends on how you were raised (this is just my opinion). Some races were just brought up on on sterotypes that are just passed down from generation to generation.

Another factor is their social background. How were they raised in school? Was their environment based in groups of race or social status. For example social status being popular cheerleader to geeky bookworm. If their upbringing was based on racial groups then a war could break out against races. Where race A will be racist against race B because of personal past conflicts.

People are less open about racism today than they were before "politically correct" became a household phrase. Racism runs rampant in our society. It is a very sad thing. I am not a racist. For me it is more fun to hate someone on an individual basis. Really, I don't hate anyone for anything. People can't help being what they were born into. No one can pick their race or looks or families when they are conceived so hating someone based on such trivialities is absurd. Good luck with your study.

I defenitly think that it is a major issue today. Like i am a hispanic and this hole immigrant issue is making people bring rage to us. Okay i know that they think that i dont understand that there not talking about me thier talkin about IILIEGALS but what pisses me off the most is that i will still be judge. I look spanish so people will assume i was not born here and will give me dirrty looks. i also get upset with the government because when they say iilegal aliens they only see us as latin people that lliegals. what about the italin and the french? What about them? I never have heard one thing bout them and it gets me exasperrated. There is also racism issue i think still with blacks. I had a blck friend who gave this boy cookie to be nice because he was hungary and u know what he said? Oh i'm not gonna accept that because ur black. Yea not nice to say

regrettably there remains a large style of racism. at the moment it really is better ideal hidden through maximum. for sure we've our epidermis heads, KKK, and different white supremacy communities that do not look to love anybody yet themselves. i might want to love to do the relations tree on a number of them, you not in any respect recognize what went on in the previous. Now because of 9/eleven many human beings hate any Moslem's, which isn't top. It doesn't look to ever end. In detention center even you've racism, what's that each and every one about? i do not recognize who it impacts the most yet i recognize until eventually all of us decide that we bleed an same coloration, that all of us can harm and be harm, that it doesn't count number what God if any human beings believe in, and that treating human beings the way you want to be dealt with is the right ingredient we are not in any respect going to have peace. I heard a guy say one time he change into satisfied he change into blind because he couldn't tell one nationality from the different until eventually instructed. (i do not recognize how a lot of that change into actuality on his area) yet i recognize he dealt with easily everyone he met with respect until eventually they did something to make him understand they did not deserve his respect. i imagine shall we take a lesson from him.
