Really depends on her. I know they are expensive and if one enjoys cooking and baking - those mixers are a must-have.
But here's the deal...if it were me? I'd be disappointed..lol. I want things like jewelry, music, poetry, lingerie etc from my boyfriend...BUT ...I have friends who have gotten things like that for Christmas and even requested things like that from their boyfriends for Christmas...if she's your girl you should know her well by now. Go with your gut.
If you're wrong...DUCK...those things are heavy and would hurt if it lands on you. ; -)

My ex-fiance (she was 20 at the time) was really into cooking (baking) and was going to school to be a chef. She was always talking about wanting a KitchenAid mixer, so I got her one. She loved it. However, you have done the right thing to get her other fun gifts as well.
If you aren't sure if she will like it, one option would be to go to the store and figure out how much it will be with tax and everything, then get her a gift card to that store for that amount, and include a picture of the KitchenAid with the gift card. Assuming that you went to a department store to get the gift card (that also happens to sell the KitchenAid), then you could tell her that you thought she really wanted to have the mixer, so it's all hers if she wants it, but if she would rather have something else, she could take the gift card and buy something else. Most people think gift cards are impersonal, and they are when all you give is the gift card in a standard amount. However, in this case you have shown that you gave it great thought because you actually picked out the gift specifically for her, but have given her the ability to politely decide if she would rather have something else....best of both worlds.

I think that's a great gift... you have to have some practical gifts along with the fun stuff and if she enjoys cooking then she'll appreciate the thought and the convenience that it'll give her.

Any individual passionate enough about baking would flip over a kitchen aid. That is a pricey present and saves so much time in the kitchen.
But if you think she might be iffy on it, do something cool. Take it out of the box and put a big bow on it. Fill the bowl with rose petals and put a piece of jewlery in there. Something special.

Great for the fun gifts. But anything that plugs in to a wall I don't think so.
Something thoughtful. You could make. Jewelry is always good nice cubic z's out there who would know. Fragrance too. Depends on how close you feel to her.

It's ALWAYS a bad gift unless she specifically requested the item. Also, no vacuums, toasters, etc. Give her something personal. A framed photo, jewelry, scarf, handbag are just a few suggestions.

I think that would be a perfect gift for her if she enjoys cooking. I wanted to put that on my christmas list, but I feel guilty cuz they're so expensive. Very thoughtful - you should do it.

If she loves to cook then that's a great present. They are expensive though arent they? I would think you would have to be very serious in a relationship to spend that much.
